I wanted to capture the contrast between the rusty and white chains, and also the framing. I also like the repetition.
Diagonal basting through all layers on the front, lapels and upper collar.

I'm leading a stitch technique workshop on this stitch next week, and needed a quick project for everyone to work on during the meeting. Can't go wrong with potholders =]
I've seen a couple of different variations in this stitch pattern, I think I like this one better - it seems to sit a little flatter.
Next job - finish seaming my jumper!

In the middle of a fast-paced dance by ABACUÁ, I was able to "grab" this dancer, just as he extended his arms like a bird in flight... A moment of blur and movement, it's so fascinating to see how dancer's move!
The ABAKUÁ dance company performed the piece "After Hour Funk" at the Museo del Barrio's block party, part of the Museum Mile festival. The dancers moved to highly upbeat score of percussive, Latin-influenced jazz/funk. They define the term "high-energy dance."
