I had to pop out to the post office late this afternoon, and caught this bright combination of colours on Halifax Street.

Maroon Bells/Snowmass Wilderness, Colorado. Steep mountainsides, under a pallette of aspen colors, tilted downwards to the valley floor. It is the kind of country that has your eyes wandering to bald spots, wondering what the view must be like from them. It's not often I walk level ground...it seems like I'm always on a diagonal path, hoping for switchbacks to ease the way. Maybe our paths will cross, going up or coming down.

Two photos of a newly planted, newly blooming, plum tree in Cullinan Park, Sugar Land, Texas. One conventional, one not. I have some uncertainty about which of these is the most interesting.

Sometimes when you have a subject in mind you either think a lot or you just venture out to photograph the first thing you find. That happened to me today, because I was folding the bedding and these white folds gave me the idea. I used a ring light for this photo.
