I always carry dog treats and packets of dog food while walking in Himachal Pradesh. There are so many beautiful street dogs, and wandering pet dogs, and canines are by far my favourite type of people.
By the look of this mamma, she had only recently had a litter. Sadly I had used up all my packs of wet dog food by this stage of the walk, but she was very keen to take one of the dry mutton sticks. She looked reasonably healthy so I assume there are some local humans that she has trained to bring her the occasional meal.
Dharamshala is encircled by stunning elevated snow-capped mountains, pine trees, and beautiful tree gardens. Dharamshala is also widely known as ‘The Scotland of India’. bit.ly/2kQIaCG

The Namgyal Monastery, McLeodganj, Dharamshala is the personal monestery of His Holiness Dalai Lama which was founded in the 16th century. it is also a learning and meditation centre of Buddhist philosophy with more than 200 monks practising. its tranquil environment, and embellishment with Tibetan architecture attract large number of tourists.
