Rakher Upobash is a Hindu festival of lights, faith and devotion. It is also known as Kartik Brati. The festival is celebrated in the month of Kartik, which usually falls in November. Hindu worshipers fast and pray in the earnest to the Gods for their favors during the traditional ritual.

Foi mandado incrustar, em 1963, pela Mocidade Portuguesa Feminina este Nicho, no muro da Quinta do Monteiro-Mor, no Lumiar, onde se encontra edificado o Palácio Angeja-Palmela que, actualmente, acolhe o Museu Nacional do Traje (de da Moda). O Palácio Angeja-Palmela foi mandado construir pelo (não 3º mas 5º) Marquês de Angeja (D. Pedro José de Noronha) durante o Século XVIII. O edifício foi construído sob influência da arquitectura pombalina mas de uma construção primitiva resta-lhe uma ombreira quinhentista, que se encontra numa residência contígua ao Palácio assim como algumas estruturas arquitectónicas do Século XVII. Nesta propriedade está também o Palácio do Monteiro-Mor, casa do séc. XVII com o seu Jardim Botânico mandado plantar com espécies vegetais exóticas vindas das colónias portuguesas (à época) de África, Índia, Timor e ainda uma zona verde com cerca de onze hectares.

Bruges (/bruːʒ/, French: [bʁyʒ]; Flemish: Brugge [ˈbrʏɣə]; German: Brügge [ˈbʁʏɡə]) is the capital and largest city of the province of West Flanders in the Flemish Region of Belgium, in the northwest of the country, and the seventh largest city of the country by population.
The area of the whole city amounts to more than 13,840 hectares (138.4 sq km; 53.44 sq miles), including 1,075 hectares off the coast, at Zeebrugge (from Brugge aan zee, meaning "Bruges by the Sea"). The historic city centre is a prominent World Heritage Site of UNESCO. It is oval in shape and about 430 hectares in size. The city's total population is 117,073 (1 January 2008),nhabitants as of 1 January 2008.
Along with a few other canal-based northern cities, such as Amsterdam, it is sometimes referred to as the Venice of the North. Bruges has a significant economic importance, thanks to its port, and was once one of the world's chief commercial cities. Bruges is well known as the seat of the College of Europe, a university institute for European studies.

The Gruuthusemuseum is a museum of applied arts in Bruges, Belgium, located in the medieval Gruuthuse, the house of Louis de Gruuthuse. The collection ranges from the 15th to the 19th century.
The Gruuthuse
Presumably in the 13th century a rich family from Bruges received the monopoly to levy taxes on gruit and built a structure to store it. The building was changed in the early fifteenth century by Jan IV van der Aa to a luxury house for his family, which subsequently changed its name to "Van Gruuthuse" ("From the Gruit house"). His son Louis de Gruuthuse added a second wing to the house and in 1472 a chapel. This connects the house to the adjacent Church of Our Lady, Bruges.
In 1596, the house was bought by Philip II of Spain and in 1623 given to Wenceslas Cobergher to house the Bruges mount of piety. The city of Bruges bought the house in 1875, and architect Louis Delacenserie completely restored it between 1883 and 1895. The exterior is partly original, partly a reconstruction; the interior is mostly a late 19th century Neogothical reconstruction of a medieval interior. The building was initially used by the city of Bruges to display the archaeological collection of the Société Archéologique, and expanded into a more general museum over the years, after the city had acquired the collections for themselves in 1955.
The collection
The museum was established to house the collection of the Société Archéologique. Some of the driving forces behind the start of the museum were art historian William Henry James Weale and architect William Curtis Brangwyn.
The museum displays both the interior of a house of a rich family as it would have been in the late Middle Ages and a collection of everyday tools and utensils. On display are furniture, bobbin lace, objects in gold and silver, weapons, musical instruments, and ceramics. The most famous object in the collection is the painted terracotta bust of Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor from 1520, attributed to Conrat Meit Another highlight is the collection of Flemish tapestries from the 16th and 17th century.
The museum regularly holds exhibitions, such as "Masterpieces of Bruges Tapestry" in 1987 and "Love and Devotion" in 2013, centered on the Gruuthuse manuscript.

Brügge (niederländisch Brugge, französisch Bruges) ist die Hauptstadt und mit 118.284 Einwohnern (Stand 1. Januar 2018) die größte Stadt der Provinz Westflandern in Belgien. Außerdem ist Brügge Bischofssitz der katholischen Kirche für das Bistum Brügge.
Im Spätmittelalter war die niederländische Region um Brügge eines der Zentren der Textilindustrie und des Fernhandels in Europa und damit eine der Geburtsstätten des Frühkapitalismus. In der Stadt residierten zeitweise die Herzöge von Burgund, unter deren Herrschaft Brügge zu einer der wirtschaftlich und kulturell reichsten Städte im damaligen Europa wurde.
Die Altstadt ist von Wallanlagen, auf denen Windmühlen stehen, und Kanälen umgeben. Da Brügge nie durch Kriege oder großflächige Brände zerstört wurde, sind mittelalterliches Stadtbild und historische Gebäude sehr gut erhalten. Die Stadt ist sowohl zu Fuß als auch per Bootstour erkundbar. Die Kanäle, die die Stadt durchziehen, nennen die Einheimischen Reien nach dem im Mittelalter vollständig kanalisierten Flüsschen Reie, über das Brügge direkt mit der Nordsee verbunden war.
Der mittelalterliche Stadtkern wurde 2000 von der UNESCO zum Weltkulturerbe erklärt. 2002 war Brügge Europäische Kulturhauptstadt.
Brügge beherbergt das renommierte Europakolleg (College of Europe) und verfügt über einen wichtigen Seehafen im Teilort Zeebrugge.

Das Gruuthusemuseum ist ein Museum in Brügge in Belgien. Es ist im denkmalgeschützten Palais der Herren von Gruuthuse eingerichtet.
Lage
Es befindet sich in der Brügger Altstadt an der Adresse Dijver 17. Unmittelbar nördlich verläuft die Gruuthusestraat, auf die im Nordosten die Nieuwstraat und die Straße Dijver trifft. Östlich des Grundstücks verläuft der Kanal Bakkersrei, der vom Arentshaus überbrückt wird. Südwestlich steht die Liebfrauenkirche.
Geschichte
Das Stadtpalais geht bis auf das Mittelalter zurück. Im 15. Jahrhundert gehörte es der Familie van Gruuthuse, die seit dem 14. Jahrhundert über das Recht Steuern auf Grut zu erheben verfügte. Die Kräutermischung Grut diente als Beimischung beim Bierbrauen. Anfang des 15. Jahrhunderts baute die Familie van Gruuthuse ihre Grutspeicher in das repräsentativ gestaltete Stadtpalais um. Im 15. Jahrhundert lebte Lodewijk van Gruuthuse (1427–1492) im Haus. Er ließ den südlichen Flügel sowie die Kapelle anbauen. 1596 erwarb der spanische König Philipp IV. das verfallene Anwesen. Philipp überließ es wohltätigen Zwecken, so wurde es als Hort der Barmherzigkeit genutzt. 1662 wurde das Gebiet östlich des Kanals, auf dem das Arentshaus errichtet wurde, vom Anwesen abgetrennt. Im Jahr 1876 wurde die Stadt Brügge Eigentümerin des Anwesens. Es folgte von 1883 bis 1896 eine Restaurierung und Umbau des Komplexes unter Leitung des Stadtarchitekten Louis Delancanserie. Dabei wurden Gebäude abgerissen und Türme an historischer Stelle wieder errichtet. Im Gebäude wurde dann die 1865 von Staatsarchivar Felix d’Hoop begründete archäologische Sammlung als Museum der archäologischen Gesellschaft von Brügge untergebracht. 1900/1901 und 1908 wurden Gebäude an der Gruuthusestraat abgerissen und 1909/1910 nach Entwürfen von Delacenserie neue Bauten errichtet. Ab 1955 diente das Haus als Städtisches Museum für Archäologie und Kunsthandwerk. 1993 wurde die Fassade zum Kanal restauriert.
Für Restaurierungsarbeiten war das Museum bis Herbst 2018 geschlossen. 2019 wurde auf dem Innenhof ein Museumspavillon errichtet, der auch als Kartenverkaufsstelle und Informationszentrum dient.
Das Gebäude ist seit dem 25. März 1938 als Denkmal ausgewiesen. Darüber hinaus wird es seit dem 14. September 2009 als architektonisches Erbe geführt. 2020 gehörte das Museum zu den Preisträgern des Onroerenderfgoedprijs.
Architektur
Die gotische Fassade ist durch Türme und Stufengiebel geprägt. Bemerkenswert sind die große Küche und die Kapelle des Palais, die noch in ihrer Gestaltung von 1472 erhalten sind. Über die Kapelle besteht eine direkte Verbindung in den Chor der Liebfrauenkirche. Im Inneren des Hauses befindet sich darüber hinaus ein mit Wandteppichen ausgestatteter Ehrensaal samt Kamin und üppig verzierten Deckenbalken.
An der Nordostecke des Areals befindet sich ein eindrucksvoller neogotischer Torbogen im Stil eines Tudorbogens. Oberhalb des Hauseingangs im Innenhof steht seit 1903 ein Lodewijk van Gruuthuse darstellendes Reiterstandbild. Unterhalb des Standbilds ist das französische Motto der Familie van Gruuthuse, Plus est en vous (deutsch Es steckt mehr in Ihnen) angebracht. Im Innenhof wurde außerdem eine Statue des Priesters und Dichters Guido Gezelle aufgestellt.
Ausstellung und Sammlung
Das Museum präsentiert in 600 Exponaten insbesondere die Geschichte Brügges in der Zeit des 15. bis 19. Jahrhunderts, darunter Kunstgegenstände in Form von Gemälden, Teppichen und Wandteppichen, Waffen, Musikinstrumenten, Möbeln, Schnitz- und Goldschmiede- und Silberarbeiten, gotische Glasfenster, Spitze, Keramiken und wissenschaftliche Gerätschaften. So befindet sich im Museum eine Kaiser Karl V. darstellende, 1521 von Konrad Meit geschaffene Büste und ein Wandteppich von 1675 mit dem Motiv der sieben Künste. Ausgestellt wird zudem eine bis in das 19. Jahrhundert genutzte Guillotine.
