The Col. Frank J. Hecker House is one of the most prominent and well-preserved mansions in the historic Indian Village Tract of Detroit.

 

The Person: The house was built for Colonel Frank J. Hecker (1846–1927), a wealthy Detroit industrialist, railroad car manufacturer, and key civic figure who served as the U.S. government commissioner at the 1900 Paris Exposition.
