After detaching from the westbound train that they just helped over Bozeman Pass, the MRL helper set consisting of two SD70ACe's and a SD40-2XR have coupled onto a eastbound train for the run back to Livingston.
Looking back at our MRL trip, this was probably the best day on Bozeman Pass that we could ask for. We got an amazing mix of weather conditions, ranging from sunny blue skies in Bozeman, to almost blizzard conditions in the pass. Almost all run through trains had helpers stay on for the ascent and descent of the pass, something that we learned later was not the norm. We got almost everything we could have wanted shot wise from this trip, but I think a round 2 is in store...

Un oiseau farouche. Il s'est détaché du groupe pour se placer sur le dessus du banc de neige. Photo prise de l'intérieur de mon véhicule pour ne pas l'effaroucher en hiver 2014. Je n'en jamais vu à d'autre endroit qu'à Mirabel. Il y a 40 ans, j'en voyait dans les champs à Laval......

After detaching two CM class locomotives due to axle load restrictions, 4917, 4815 and 4829 depart Ungarie with empty SSR grain train 2343 to Lake Cargelligo.
Light axle loading on the Lake Cargelligo branch only permits smaller branch line units beyond Ungarie for the remaining 71km of the line.
Fascinating that the old water column for steam locomotives still remains here.

L’ouverture c’est l’existence. L’existence est à la fois immersion dans son environnement et détachement relatif à l’égard de cet environnement. Whitehead a dit fortement : « Il n’y a aucune possibilité d’existence détachée et autonome », et effectivement tout ce qui existe est dépendant. L’existence est l’être qui est sous la dépendance continue de ce qui l’environne et:ou de ce qui le nourrit. Mais il faut en même temps un certain détachement et une certaine autonomie, c’est à dire un minimum d’individualité, pour exister. Les êtres vivants vont développer de façon nécessairement complémentaire (bien que concurrente et antagoniste) leur autonomie et leurs dépendances à l’égard de leur éco-système ; plus ils se seront complexes, plus ils seront fragiles (car ils multiplient leurs dépendances écologiques), plus ils développeront l’aptitude à lutter contre cette fragilité par la stratégie du comportement, qui deviendra intelligence…
L’existence, c’est la fragilité : l’être ouvert ou existant est proche de la ruine dés sa naissance, il ne peut éviter ou différer cette ruine que par le dynamisme ininterrompu de la réorganisation permanente et le secours d’un ravitaillement extérieur. C’est un étant transitif, incertain, qui a toujours besoin de réexister et qui s’évanouit dés qu’il cesse d’être nourri, entretenu, réorganisé, réorganisant… Son existence ne peut qu’osciller entre l’équilibre et le déséquilibre, qui l’un et l’autre le désintègrent.
Ainsi un système ouvert comme le remous ou la flamme porte en lui l’origine du vivre – l’existence phénoménale assurée pas l’échange transformateur et réorganisateur avec l’environnement – et l’origine du mourir – la désintégration naturelle et la dispersion des composants. Comme chez le vivant, la mort vient de l’extérieur (la perturbation, l’accident, le tarissement des resoources matérielles/énergétiques fournies par l’environnement) et de l’intérieur (le dérèglement dans le processus réorganisationnel).
Allons plus avant : là où il y ouverture, la désorganisation est le complément antagoniste de la réorganisation. Tout ce qui est est ouvert vit sous la menace de la mort et de la menace de mort. Autrement dit, toute existence se nourrit de ce qui la ronge. Ceci nous conduira à l’idée héraclitéenne capitale « vivre de mort, mourir de vie ».

The cold waters of Svartifoss detach themselves from the confines of the surrounding basalt for a brief splendid few moments before catching and gathering once again amongst the rubble of toppled columns, and speeding down toward the North Atlantic, Skaftafell National Park, Iceland. Despite the thin soil, a rich community of plants is nurtured by the constant spray of water. Toward the right, my 8-year old son hops nimbly from stone to stone as he tries to determine just how close to the falling water he can get without having to walk in it.

Cénotaphe Jaswant Thada, Jodhpur (Etat du Rajasthan, Inde)
A Jodhpur, un Maharaja de la toute fin du XIXe siècle a fait construire en mémoire de son père un monumental et très beau cénotaphe de marbre blanc à l’architecture très classique. La comparaison avec le Taj Mahal que les locaux se plaisent à faire peut paraître un peu prétentieuse mais l’endroit, calme, très bien entretenu, à l’écart de la ville, est très agréable à visiter.
L’élégance de la silhouette colorée de cette femme dans son activité quotidienne m’a paru digne de la dentelle de marbre sur laquelle elle se détache. Qu’en aurait pensé le Maharaja ?
Montréal :Ce pic mineur est sur un bouleau noir ,il est cultivé pour son écorce multicolore qui se détache en lambeaux!

La Great Ocean Road, (en français : Grande route de l'océan ) est une route côtière de 243 km longeant l'État de Victoria, situé sur la côte sud-est en Australie entre les villes de Torquay et de Allansford. Construite entre 1919 et 1932 par des soldats revenus de la Première Guerre mondiale, cette route est devenue un haut lieu touristique du Victoria. Elle offre de magnifiques vues du détroit de Bass avec des paysages faits de falaises et autres formations rocheuses impressionnantes, telles que le Loch Ard Gorge, le Grotto, le London Bridge (renommé London Arch depuis l'effondrement d'un de ses segments) et surtout les fameux Douze Apôtres (Twelve Apostles). Taken near Paradise Cove in Ko Olina. Nice place to detach, and get away from the nearby hotel resorts. Located on the Leeward or western side of Oahu, Ko Olina is one of my favorite places to stay on the island.
