This rose has destined persevered felt 2 months. The first frost this year has finished this Marathon. Too bad.
Diese Rose hat bestimmt gefühlte 2 Monate durchgehalten. Der erste Frost in diesem Jahr hat ihren Blüthen-Marathon beendet. Schade eigentlich.
I like the idea that you can make something destined for the bin (in this case a little piece of spring onion peel) and make it into something more!
HMM! It's A-Peeling To Me
A slide I was given that required a large amount of restoration, but it's an interesting scene.
The only detail I have was the faded pencil on the slide mount that said February 1987, but where and what the scene is - are the destined for restoration or scrap? - is unknown.

“I believe I was always meant to find you.
That, I have no doubts.
I was destined to hear your voice
and the truth that only you could share.
I like to believe that it was impossible for me to go through this life without feeling you.”

Marken was an island in the Zuiderzee
For some time during the later 19th and early 20th centuries, Marken and its inhabitants were the focus of considerable attention by folklorists, ethnographers and physical anthropologists, who regarded the small fishing town as a relic of the traditional native culture that was destined to disappear as the modernization of the Netherlands gained pace
Last image through the printer destined to Green River, Utah for my exhibition FOOTPRINTS OF WATER at the John Wesley Powell River History Museum. The show will be up starting January 10, 2022 and run through June 10, 2022. I will be displaying selections of poetry to be read and/or listened to via a QR code. Prints, posters, greeting cards, and other items will be available in the gift shop. An in-person opening may be held at a later date depending on the pandemic situation and/or I may put together a virtual tour.
All-Rail loads destined to the Edgar Thomson Works near Pittsburgh. The pellets were made at Minntac - both of these installations were operated by U S Steel.
I have photographed this shoreline a thousand times before and, with luck, will photograph it a thousand times more!

South Queensferry was once the main point to board ferries over to Fife and is still a port today, although the boats are now destined for the islands of the Forth.
The prefix South serves to distinguish it from North Queensferry, on the opposite shore of the Forth. Both towns derive their name from the ferry service established by Queen Margaret in the 11th century, which continued to operate at the town until 1964, when the Road Bridge was opened.
Take a boat tour to travel under the Forth Bridge and explore the wildlife and history of the islands. You can even land on Inchcolm, which is home to both a 12th century abbey and the fascinating remnants of Second World War defences.
Dalmeny House and Hopetoun House are two fine stately homes located on the outskirts of South Queensferry, and both are excellent attractions which boast lovely grounds, impressive architecture and historic artefacts.
The town is also a great place to start a coastal walk by joining the John Muir Way and following it through Dalmeny Estate and towards Cramond village.

This has become my 'go to' place for at least one photo for many years now on each visit to Portugal. See the first comment box for a few others taken in previous years. A quick overview of the new photos tells me I will post at least one more from this year of this magical place.

Buffalo and Pittsburgh empties destined for loading on the former MGA's PawPaw Branch pass by the Rivesville, WV power station. The plant was built by the Monongahela Power and Railway Company in 1919, and operated until it's closure in 2012 citing environmental reasonings. So these days it just makes for a killer backdrop to take pictures with.
It would be cool to see the plant saved instead of demolished and turned into a museum... but i doubt we could get that lucky for preservation sake. Some of the patch town homes can be seen in the background next to the plant. I have tons more photos to share, so be on the lookout for near daily uploads in the near future!
This photo was destined for the recycle bin. It was very late when I took it and becoming dark. But I thought I would try B&W before it was deleted. I'm surprised it actually turned out so he might get to see another day.
Thank you for your visit and comments. They are very much appreciated.
An empty ore train destined for the Hibbing Taconite pellet plant crossing the St Louis River. During the early 1990s Hibbing Taconite, or Hibtac for short, loaded two 160-car "dock trains" every 24-hours. The trains were dumped at the BN docks at Allouez, near Superior, Wis., where the pellets were transloaded into Great Lakes ore boats.
If anyone cares, I wrote an article covering the BN's Mesabi Range ore operations for CTC Board that ran in the January 1995 issue. I briefly dispatched these lines when I worked for the BN at the Northtown DS office at Minneapolis.

Marken (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈmɑrkə(n)]; Marken's dialect: Mereke) is a village with a population of 1,810 in the municipality of Waterland in the province of North Holland in the Netherlands. Marken forms a peninsula in the Markermeer and was formerly an island in the Zuiderzee. The characteristic wooden houses of Marken are a tourist attraction.
Marken was an island in the Zuiderzee
For some time during the later 19th and early 20th centuries, Marken and its inhabitants were the focus of considerable attention by folklorists, ethnographers and physical anthropologists, who regarded the small fishing town as a relic of the traditional native culture that was destined to disappear as the modernization of the Netherlands gained pace.[5] Among them was Johann Friedrich Blumenbach who examined a skull from the island of humans which he called Batavus genuinus; and was the Belgian painter Xavier Mellery who stayed in Marken at the request of Decoster. Mellery was asked to perform illustrative work and delivered several intimist works.
The projects of Cornelis Lely was to incorporated the island into the markerwaard. The dike, built in 1941 in the north, is the first phase of that project which was stopped by the war.
In 1983, the Marker Museum about the history of the island was opened.

Lehigh Valley heritage heads up a loaded coal train destined for Belews Creek, North Carolina. Two by two DPU on this one down the H-Line through the Shenandoah Valley.
Buckingham Branch Railroad's Dillwyn Local symbol Z710 has backed onto the CSX main and headed for the small interchange yard at Strathmore, two and a half miles away. Just visible at the rear of the train is a red bay-window caboose that is used by the conductor as a shoving platform. The hand throw switch is where the BB line ties in. The 13 loads of wood chips are destined to a papermill along the CSX at Covington, Va.
The RF&P Geep sees little use on this job anymore as there are now a pair of BB Geeps that are used.
Coal destined for the boilers of the Southwest Public Service Company at Amarillo, Texas. The train is snaking along the Twin Mountain Sub near Beshoar. This was once CB&Q subsidiary Colorado & Southern Railway main line south out of Denver. Third out in the consist is EMD 3, an SD60 demonstrator.
Loaded coal destined for the Hyco generating plant in North Carolina head past a pair of intermediate signals between the CTC sidings at Seneca and Brookneal. This is the former Virginia Railway main line east of Roanoke. I'm guessing this is one of the last stretches of CTC on the NS that has old intermediates.
This train loaded at the Kanawha River Terminal dock on the Ohio River at Ceredo, West Virginia. The train was 105 cars with a two unit DPU set on the rear.

14th December 2015 - Boeing HC6 'Chinook' destined for 7 Squadron at RAF Odiham sits at the railhead of the Seaforth Container terminal in Liverpool after being offloaded from the ACL Vessel 'Atlantic Concert'.
This is the last of the current batch of Chinooks being delivered to the RAF and was handed over in a ceremony in Baltimore on the 35th anniversary of the the 1st Chinook being delivered. This delivery brings the RAF's compliment of Chinooks up to 60.

is my destiny
than what's left of me,
I'll give to you..

is all that you need to be
would you settle for fantasy,
if it's the best you could do?
