Peru — home to one of the new 'Seven Wonders of the World,' man-made floating islands, valleys so beautiful they are literally named 'Sacred' — Lake Titicaca and Machu Picchu are just the beginning of what this land in the sky has to offer. Mind the altitude, because you're just getting started.
Travel to Peru and fuel your imagination on a diet of ancient treasures and wonderful landscapes. Surrounded by majestic Andean peaks, world wonder Machu Picchu and the historic city of Cusco highlight Peru’s dramatic birth from the encounter between Incas and Spaniards.
Just as thrilling are the lush expanses of Amazon rainforest, the breathtaking vastness of Lake Titicaca, the fantastic food scene in Lima, and the enduring enigma of the Nazca Lines. One thing is certain. Peru has something for everyone. All you have to do is choose where to go and when.

Film Kodak GB 200 scanned on Epson V750 to clean the dust and increase 3 dots of contrast.
The Kyoto taxi just outside the entrance, the lighted round chochin lanterns, red Noren curtains. Orientalism at its best.
I enjoy the challenge of taking night shots, the interplay of light and shadows, the mood. Daylight is all too familiar.

It’s good to get the exposure right to avoid any burnt highlights which tends to ruin far too many night shots with artificial lighting source within the frame.

Looking back at one of the more beautiful sunsets that we’ve had at El. Franco Lee Park. I live in the flight path of a local airport, so it’s not unusual to capture a plane in my photos from time to time. Sunset capture taken at El. Franco Lee Park.

Flash flood today! of course all schools were closed except for mine but It gave me inspiration for a photo.
I walked like a mile to get to this spot , it was too perfect. At the end of the day I am covered in mudd and have scratches all over my legs and feet from branches but it felt so great to go on a solo adventure.

Final destination. It goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway: It was love at first sight. Maybe it was mutual this time, as the weather improved half an hour after we got here and stayed sunny and luvverly until the day we left.
No self-promotion, please. Comments with links to your own streams, photos, flickrivers etc. will be deleted.

A Houseboat passing on Backwaters at Alleppey. Once in a lifetime Kerala trip is must do visit. Alappuzha (or Alleppey) is a city on the Laccadive Sea in the southern Indian state of Kerala. It's best known for houseboat cruises along the rustic Kerala backwaters, a network of tranquil canals and lagoons.

I wonder how many planks of wood there are in Newcastle railway station roof.
In any event - it's a phenomenal structure, in this case splashed by unseasonably warm November sunshine.
Playa de Cofete is what I humbly consider to be the most beautiful place around Fuerteventura Island and I'm both glad and surprise no one is here to agree with me.
So luxouriously secluded.
Of all the paths you take in life, make sure a few of them lead to magical sunsets at the beach.

Life is so strange when you don't know
How can you tell where you're going to?
You can't be sure of any situation
Something could change and then you won't know
You ask yourself
Where do we go from here?
It seems so all too near
Just as far beyond as I can see
I still don't know what this all means to me
You tell yourself
I have nowhere to go
I don't know what to do
And I don't even know the time of day
I guess it doesn't matter any way
Life is so strange
Destination unknown
When you don't know
Your destination
And something could change
It's unknown
And then you won't know
Destination unknown
Life is so strange
Destination unknown
When you don't know
Your destination
And something could change
It's unknown
And then you won't know
Destination unknown
You ask yourself
When will my time come?
Has it all been said and done?
I know I'll leave when it's my time to go
'Til then I'll carry on with what I know
Life is so strange
Destination unknown
When you don't know
Your destination
And something could change
It's unknown
And then you won't know
Destination unknown
Life is so strange
Destination unknown
When you don't know
Your destination
And something could change
It's unknown
And then you won't know
Destination unknown
Life is so strange
I left my job my boss my car and my home
I'm leaving for a destination I still don't know

A few weeks ago, Tom & I were able to get away for a quick trip to Colorado just in time to catch some of the fall color. It had been some time since we were able to venture out, so we were quite excited. We had a few things on our "to do" list that didn't involve photography, but rest assured we incorporated some photographic adventures along the way.
We tried to "just wing" the trip regarding photography ... hoping to capture the fall colors, which made an early arrival this autumn. One of the areas that we wanted to explore was the San Juan Mountains. This image was simply taken along the road ... to what was roughly "destination TBD". It could not have been a more beautiful day ... nice and cool for us to be refreshed, sunny day that still offered a bit of clouds along the way, and gorgeous scenery such as this the entire way. It was just breathtaking. Just what my soul desperately needed after a summer full of challenges.
While enjoying Colorado, we found the time to meet up with some friends along the way, explore new areas, and go 4-wheeling on some of the roads less traveled (big shout out to Rick Louie Photography for that amazing adventure). Of course, it wouldn't be 2016 without some more challenges along the way in the form of an unexpected Cat 4 hurricane taking sights on south Florida (i.e. my coastal home). After the initial panic mode that ensued, we actually got a bonus side trip to Rocky Mountain NP out of it, just in time for the elk rut season, so I certainly couldn't complain. Life is good.
Thanks so much for stopping by to view. I hope that everyone is having a fantastic weekend. South Florida is actually having a cold front right now ... it's a brisk low 60's outside. LOL Joking aside, it does feel amazing!
