An hour's drive via Puerto Montt to the modern port of Pargua for the ferry ride through the Chacao Channel to the emerald isle of Chiloé is an interesting trip.

A few weeks ago, Cris and the boys headed out of town to visit family and I hung back to paint and do other chores. I took a break one evening and tossed my kayak in the May for a trip up to the old sandbar. It was a nice evening, though a little humid, but that didnt stop the enjoyment. I saw several sharks, wading birds, some fellow river travelers and had a good time.
When the river calls, you gotta accept the charges.
