This work setup is so EXTREME I should be sponsored by Mountain Dew - or the Cancer Society because I'm going to get eye cancer threefold. EXTREME eye cancer threefold.

This is my current desktop. Yes I have 2 monitors, and yes they are different sizes (need to buy a new one!).
I appreciate stylish desktops, but the simple fact is 90% of the time, you can't see the desktop, so my desktops are geared towards productivity. The stats at the top of the second monitor, the music display at the bottom, and the clock in the upper right corner of the first monitor is from a Samurize config that I made for myself. As you can see, I have things set up so I can always see the stats bar.
One of the biggest features that is not immediately apparent is TrueLaunchBar. It's what I'm using for my QuickLaunch menu. It allows me to create custom menus. Another great feature is its AutoSensing. I can create rules, so that when a certain process is running, the toolbars can change. It's hard to explain with a still image, so I made a little movie showing it in action. In the movie, when I open Photoshop, you will see my normal menus change out to more folder-oriented menus. TLB offers "virtual folder" menus. It's very similiar to setting any of the items (Control Panel, My Computer, etc) on your Windows Start menu to "Display as a Menu", except you can choose any folder. It's really handy, trust me.

This is my desktop at work, the background was taken with a cell phone camera, despite the low quality imagine I like it for some reason. It was taken when me and the girls were out to lunch, for some reason I felt compelled to snap a photo...
Since people have a tendency to ask, the commands I am using for my geektool displays are:
Upper left: ps -cm -U Usernam | awk '/:/ && $5!~/Dashboard/'
Upper middle: netstat -ab -f inet | grep -i established | sort +4
Middle left: Show file: /Library/Logs/Console/501/console.log
Middle Right: Show file: /private/var/log/system.log
Lower: ifconfig | awk '/flags=|media|inet / {if (substr($2, 1, 6) == "flags=") printf("\n%s ", $1);
else if ($1 == "inet") printf("%s ", $2);
else if ($1 == "media:") printf(substr($0, 9))}' | awk '$1 ~ /^en/'
Lowest: uptime | awk '{printf "up : " $3 " " $4 " " $5 " " }'; top -l 1 | awk '/PhysMem/ {printf "RAM : " $8 ", " }' ; top -l 2 | awk '/CPU usage/ && NR > 5 {print $6, $7=":", $8, $9="user", $10, $11="sys", $12, $13}'
