Designers United is a 12 day long fashion event featuring exclusively created products from a group of talented designers, based on a theme. Each designer has created items specifically for this project, and they will only be available for sale for a limited period of time.

The theme chosen is "Narcissus", and the designers have interpreted this theme to make items based on the colors, textures or feelings evoked by this flower or myth.

This bi-monthly event is being hosted by the Floyd sim, and will be held from September 4th to September 15th.

I was doing a project for Age Concern, that’s how I came to be in this retirement home. They wanted specific images for a book, so I had set up the image I needed, when I spotted this gentleman looking very interested at everything I was doing.

He sat by himself, I had some time, I walked over to him and had a very lovely chat, he wanted to know all about the project.

It struck me again how lonely people often are and a bit of human kindness, some attention and a laugh can make their day (and mine!).

I saw things were ready for the next shot when he asked me:” was I not going to photograph him?”

So I said of course… that made him very happy yet he did not feel like smiling, which was fine by me, I liked his curiosity.

It was only after the development and the viewing of the negs that I saw what I really had captured!

I wonder if the designers imagine who they're all designing for! They probably think only of the young and fashion conscious?

Do they ever think where their designer labels might turn up?

This is a poignant and I hope also very thought provoking image.

I love this photo because it is full of social commentary and has a lot to say.

Another difficult one to print, backlight, no flash, just some neon lights on the ceiling, it all adds to the atmosphere.

I often like the discipline of touching back the basics, one camera, one lens, grainy 400 asa b&w film, and go out there.

Pomapoos are hybrid designer breed dogs. They are not purebreds like their Pomeranian or Poodle parents. Young French designer, Jessica Othnin-Girard, holds her bikini fashion show at the Highstreet Loft in Shanghai as part of the 2009 Shanghai International Fashion Model Week.

(Swedish: Brunnsparken) The installation is inspired by the Thai mythology of Kinnari - a creature that is half human, half bird.

It's a walk through a mysterious forest where you can sense Kinnari but never see her physically.

It is one of the temporary light installations during the event "Lights in Alingsås 2024" – the theme of the year is "The Magical World of Mythology". Work shop head for this installation: Chayot Kiranantawat, based in Singapore.

Alingsås Municipality organises the event Lights in Alingsås every autumn. Since 2000 the municipality has worked with the PLDA (Professional Lighting Designers´ Association). Every year in september/october leading international lighting come to Alingsås to hold a week´s workshop with participants from all over the world. Together they light a number of buildings and locations around the town centre. Around 70,000 people come every year to see the designs during the month-long event.

I am honored to be one of 60's artists asked by Mezco Toyz to take part in their Mez-Itz art show at this year's San Diego Comic Con. Mez-Itz are their new upcoming line of 6" designer vinyl figures. For my entry, I decided to make a mummy. He is not based on any particular mummy, but definitely inspired by classic mummy films.

When I started designing the living room of the home, I became really inspired by tropical patterns. I wanted this room to resemble something you may see at a fine resort or villa in the Bahamas. I was looking for the room to have a loud and vibrant wallpaper, which will give the room a custom aspect, while still remaining elegant.

The wallpaper that I found, I believe, is very elegant. This wallpaper checks off all the boxes of what I had imagined for this room in regards to a tropical and floral wallpaper. Since the wallpaper is very loud, I chose to go with simple pieces of white furniture and then add in pops of colour through my accessories. I opted to use pink throw pillows and blankets on the furniture in order to pull some of the pink out of the wallpaper. I chose a black coffee table with a glass top in order to ground the space. I placed various colours of books on the coffee table as I did not want everything to appear very 'matchy matchy' or uniform. I also opted to add a large white piano in the corner of the space in order to cut down on the intensity of the wallpaper.

As I mentioned before, I will be posting more interior shots of the other rooms in the home over the next few days. I have chosen not to post all of the photos at once as I do not want to flood anyones feed.
