After milling the side pieces, it was time to start milling the transit for the interlocking mechanism. The transit allows the pieces to slot into the Tong drum and thus contain the disparate musical objects.

Testing out the transit. Is it making sense yet?? Probably not. You'll understand as it takes shape.
This was one of the happy accidents to the making of the concept sketch. Initially the 4 sides were meant to butt at the corners but I drew them in to form a sort of pinwheel shape and expose the bits that stick out at the corners.
