Drawings done, it's time to create a tangible concept sketch. For the tone box or "Tong Drum" I chose recovered table top material. Reusing materials is a pleasure.
I wasn't able to use the planer at Goldsmiths (concerns with embedded metals) so I used an end mill bit to get it to a consistent depth and expose some new grain.
