House facade set for a tv commercial. Filming of the exterior lasted for 5 hours with no incidents of uncontrolled fires.

Hasana represents a luxury, lifestyle brand with great accessories and handbag designs for the fun, classic and feminine girl of today. The Hasana Collection has clean, happy and bright colors, inspired by the Dutch Caribbean island of Curacao.

And guess what is sooo wonderful about the Hasana line?... You don't have to feel guilty about splurging on great, designer jewelry, because 100% of the proceeds of the sales from the Hasana collection directly benefits The Apareció Foundation (a nonprofit organization that raises funds towards educational grants and program for low-income, high-potential Chicago Public High School female students). Every penny. Every dollar. Benefiting education.

There were several projects that I got to oversee, design, and guide the overall art direction to Hasana's marketing materials — a 16-page LookBook highlighting nine different collections of jewelry, the website is in development, but pages are still in development, Event Posters for the launch party, and 9 different informational cards defining the inspiration and designer for each collection of Hasana. I wish I could take credit for the photography, too, but these stunning images were taken by Amaris Granado (amarisgranado.com).

Before I even began designing the invitation set, I started with a moodboard as usual to make sure the client is on board with the design direction. This wedding is in November, she had fall-like colors, but she didn't want an Autumn, leaf theme. She wanted to embrace certain rustic elements, but rather communicate elegance, sophistication and have it be warm + inviting for her guests. And my design solution to her visual concerns was "An Enchanted November" wedding theme.

For the invitation, the key defining element that will be branded across all wedding components is the "H" monogram which stands for the groom's last name. To make it as unique as possible for Stephanie + Justin, I deconstructed the letter "H" by replacing the connecting bar with a graphic branch. I created depth and interest by playing with rich, deep gradients composed of the mocha + cranberry hues. The 11.11.11 date is written in a classy, but in a not-so-stuffy script typeface below the monogram in the invitation set.

The main invite is a one-folded card with a loose, self mailer RSVP card. For the typography, I wanted it to be soft + bold, and have it flow + move by using different opacity levels. Also, I broke it up by having the information across two pages.

Printing Specs: One-folded Card + Response Card were 4C/4C, Digital on Citi Paper USA, Autumn Hay, 98C weight paper. Adhesive label was also 4-Color, Digital, but printed on standard adhesive paper that wasn't iridescent for cost efficiency.

No printing on the chocolate A7 envelope as per the original design; client opted for addressed labels where she could get custom calligraphy done in chocolate ink. Also, I provided the client with the "H" monogram art file so she could get custom matching stamps.

The coffee table wedding book was divided between two 12x12-inch books, because there was so much to visually tell. In total, there was 200+ pages, 5 chapters documenting the Indian wedding process that took place over 3 days, and a custom cover design that nods to Indian culture, but still being contemporary for our young couple.

With a little manipulation in Photoshop, sensitivity for typography, an eye for layout structure, and a few words of dedication written by me, I must say these books are another great addition to the Design With Chon portfolio of custom books.

Essentially everything has been completed for Yellow Duck PR in terms of logo development and corporate identity, and the initial beginnings of a Brand + Graphics Standards guideline. But it didn't stop there... a customized brochure was integrated into the bigger picture, too. Clients tend to move on from designers once they get their logo files and initial graphics started, but they forget what they have access to when working with a designer specializing in graphics.

For instance, in the Yellow Duck PR brochure below, we didn't buy any photographic images. I created all custom infographics to visually tell the story, define the inner workings of the Yellow Duck PR process, and to reflect the overall nature of the brand. In addition, I was able to work with the client's copy and restructured the verbiage so it would better be effective in each spread. Light copywriting is just one of the many services that I offer as I design any project. I am about making the whole picture and content cohesive down to the very last period in a sentence.

Colors: Green, White + Gray

I had an itch for a summer, emerald green color palette after I saw the Carolina Herrera's white gown called "Constance". The dramatic, wavy ruffles on the dress reminded me of the Peony's chunky white petals (on the second board, lower-right corner). Then I saw the dark green stem against the white Peony and came up with the perfect color combo – green, white and a soft grey. It's a nice combination for a spring wedding – fresh, crisp and clean.

I always love a nice, tailored grey suit with a nice tie, like the one above in green for the groom and his groomsmen. And for the reception table decor, only use fresh live plants like green grass, moss, herbs and even live plant terrariums.

I was trying not to do the typical gender, specific baby shower invite with baby powder blues for a boy and light pinks for a girl. Plus, this shower was co-ed, and I wanted it to appeal to everyone.

In this first shower, I went with a colorful palette that leaned to be more feminine with the hot magenta hue since my friend was having a baby girl. And for her custom invite, I used this fun baby rhyme that we once heard as children – (insert a girl's name) and (insert a boy's name) sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G, First comes love , Then comes marriage, Then comes (insert a girl's name) with a baby carriage. Obviously, I modified the rhyme to be more fitting for the invite.

Frankenstein's lab complete with tilt table for a Halloween Slot Tournament at Atlantis Paradise Resort in the Bahamas.

News style set created for a community webcast series by the North Miami Beach Police Department. The set had to fit into a multi-use room withing the Police Headquarters.

70' x 80' stage with 2 levels. There was even a plug center stage that revealed a working hot tub built in to the stage deck!

This 1st birthday invitation is for a boy so it required masculine colors which worked well with the Halloween theme. Being a themed invite, I didn't want to go overboard with it being gruesome/scary and wanted a "cuteness" factor, because this is a party geared towards little kiddies ranging in ages from 1 to 5 yrs old. And the perfect visual solution that also happens to be on trend with the season are owls. However for this invite design, I made the owl a baby with big, white googly eyes on an overly rounded body.

In the background, I created a custom pattern with different sized googly eyes repeated, and layered it on a textural, brushed background to add another visual layer of interest. Isn't this baby owl so adorable!? I just want to pinch his cheeks. :)

My girlfriend had several ideas on what she wanted for her invite. Something naturesque, possibly include her favorite color – celery green, and she wanted to do something with sunflowers. In addition, she was having a baby boy, but didn't want it to scream "baby blue" everywhere. And this is where I ended up for the invite and colors. There are three dominant colors: baby blue, sunny yellow and celery green.

As always, I had to add my own personal twist to the invite by adding some fun, cute verbiage to tie all the elements together. And this is how it goes, "Once upon a time, we were told a story about the Birds and the Bees, but this October eighteenth, we get to celebrate one of nature's acts come to life for Mira and Kapil."

The Evaluation Collective's type of business is very analytical, and it deals with lots of research, statistics and the evaluation of other corporations + non profits' inner workings. Mainly, this particular client utilizes the left-side of the brain and which happens to be the total opposite in how I function as a creative; I use the right-side of my brain. As a result, the design of the logo reflects a graphic interpretation of the brain and highlights the scholastic, left-side of the brain.

The cards were printed in 2 PMS colors on Strathmore 130 cb paper. On the back side, the left side of the icon and the word "evaluation" was debossed to give emphasis on the meaning of the business.

This particular baby shower isn't your standard baby shower hoopla. The mother-to-be wanted it to be more casual, outdoors, intimate with close friends and to have a simple menu like a BBQ. After talking to the future mom and the party planning team, I knew right off the bat what I wanted to do for the baby shower invite. No formal envelope, just a straight forward postcard style invite with the pertinent info on it. Of course, there was a push of a theme, but not over the top. It's a Western-inspired BBQ baby shower. And the design of the postcard reflects that with Western style typefaces, flourishes, the bold red, natural wood grain tones and a graphic horse, but a horse rocker since it is a baby shower. ;)

This birthday invite design is obviously dedicated to my niece, Alina, who is turning one this June. Her mom wanted the invite to be centered around a cupcake with the #1 on top of it along with a few other elements – 2 main colors (magenta & green turquoise), polka dots, and somehow to incorporate the outdoors since the event is at a park.

This is a lot of elements for a 1-sided invite, but I think I accomplished all the necessities while still keeping a cute, girlie theme. As you can see, I went all out with the polka dots all in various sizes from the #1 candle to the bold patterned background. The main focus is on the cupcake and polka dots, and I didn't want to add too much more without over designing, or cluttering the space with another huge element to represent the outdoors. Instead, I added a cute little pink ladybug flying around the space to suggest the outdoor environment. I think that was the extra little icing on the cupcake. :)

BBQ Beat was developed for use at NFL Experience during Super Bowl XLIV in Miami. It comprises of a team of percussionists who play on real charcoal grills, garbage cans, pots, pans, buckets and other cooking elements. The grill units are wheeled allowing for them to be mobile at outdoor events.

Coffin bookcase for a Halloween Slot Tournament at Atlantis Paradise Resort in the Bahamas.

For Yellow Duck PR, the stacked words in all caps is the actual logo of the company. The "Beak" face is the brand icon, and it can be seen as part of the signature logo or separate.

In the business card design, I wanted to literally bring the "Beak" to life. It's a one-folded business card with a die-cut along the beak's edge which allows the user to open the mouth and fold the card over to conceal the business card content.

Concept for a news style set created for a community webcast series by the North Miami Beach Police Department. The set had to fit into a multi-use room withing the Police Headquarters.

Private in-home O gauge (1:48 scale) train layout built in the style of late 1940s – early 1950s Americana. Project created as part of the team at Scale Models, Arts, & Technologies (SMARTT, Inc.) www.smarttinc.com

For my client's logo, she wanted something fun, definitely not conventional, modern, and of course, something that communicates travel. I presented her with 3 ideas, and this seemed to be the clear winner amongst everyone, and it was my recommendation, too. The word "my" has the handwritten personal touch of her services and the simplified plane icon is cute and memorable. And to accompany it, I created a custom pattern with icons that touches on different points of travel from conventional to the unconventional – plane, a cruise boat/yacht, hot air balloon, and a scooter (on the iPhone case). On the reverse side of the business card, I thought a tag line would help define the business to her audience – "your customized escape to the world". Nisha truly wants to provide her clients with an escape to a world of relaxation & exploration, and away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
