Experimenting with smoke... I liked the idea of holding incense sticks as chopsticks and seeing what happened.
They're mildly peppery, with a surprising hint of cheese. Nice crunch. I could see these becoming habit-forming.
This was my first visit to Italy, an ancient country I'd studied for many years. Steve and I entered by train to Venice, and then made our way down the peninsula slowly to Siena, Florence, Rome, Herculaneum, and then flew to Sicily. It was the trip of a lifetime, and though it was an incredibly hot summer, we'll never forget the experience of seeing all this magnificent art and architecture.
