Near Lambertville, NJ. circa 1974
Slight possibility I've got this mixed up with the Delaware Canal on the New Hope side of the river. Both canals were built around 1830 with the NJ one connecting the Raritan and Delaware Rivers and the PA one connecting the Lehigh River mouth to Bristol along the Delaware.

A nice cloud formation greeted me on this morning along the Atlantic Coast in Delaware, looking out over part of the beach and some dune grasses.

After getting out of the water they rejoined despite the distraction of another Eagle flying by them very closely.
