From the President's dining room that over looks the "mess Hall" of St. John's Military Academy in Delafield, WI. Some may remember it from Apollo 13 - Capt. John Lovell's son watched his father's flight from here. HIs grandson graduated from here last year.
Much tradition for a boarding school with 125 year history.
The grounds are similar to the setting of West Point. The age of the buildings and style take one back in time. The chapel and dining hall reminded me of Harry Potter movies.
Gave me a window shot for the month's theme! - I would have loved to have been here with my camera and taken lots fo shots - but being here on business, could only squeeze in the few shots. Lots to take pictures of - lovely setting and grounds as well as subjects.
My grandfather Delafield "Sully" Sullivant, Jr. watches as his son Mike hammers a nail into a board. My father Pat looks at the camera and leans on his saw. This photo was taken on the Broadland farm near Folsom, Louisiana.
You only get four cloves per head with Susan Delafield garlic but they are huge and pungent, crazy spicy. Hard to get seed cloves too, always seems to be sold out. Could not buy it last fall but planted one head I had left from last years crop. Saving two of the four heads I grew this year for the next crop.

Damaged hand rails and painted splattered pilot on ICE 6411 on train 276. Train had hit a van in Delafield WI earlier in the day. Pewaukee WI 9-15-2012.

Towering Cumulus
I shot this in RAW with a shutter speed of 1/1250 and ISO 200 and at F 4.0. I used a Cokin +3 red filter on the original image which turned the image into a monochromatic red frame. I then converted that image to black and white and adjusted the brightness/contrast/levels to come out with this final frame.

A bridge so nice it needed two* historical markers. Captain Delafield mentioned on the sign went on to serve three terms as Superintendent of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and later head of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
*The bridge has a third historical marker, from the American Society of Civil Engineers, but I didn't take a photo of it.
