These images were created for a series I made into a book.
I was mapping myself and those involved.
Each one is a portrait of a person who has had a significant impact on me at some point or throughout my life.
The objects they hold are representing someone who has been a significant impact on them.
Hands are individual and unique. By having them hold an object I can accurately represent someone without using a typical portrait. It also gave me the leeway to expand the project to involve an aspect of someone significant to them instead of just them being significant to myself.
how would you interpret this sign at a local bar? to me, it says that during happy hour, a pint of beer is only $1.50. according to the folks here, a "beer" is half a pint, or 8 oz. since when is a "beer" only half a pint? this is like a gas station advertising gas for $3 ... for half a gallon. shame, shame sf brewing company. your purposely deceiving marketing sickens me more than light domestic beer served in a can. if i ask for a beer and the bartender served me a beer in an 8 oz. cup, i think i have the legal right to punch him in the throat.

Love Defined - Matt Dubois -
What is love, but an emotion,

My mom's family used to live in a big Colonial in Kaukauna, WI. Aside from having 10 kids in the family, and being a little insane (no doubt aided by the characteristically Irish Catholic amount of offspring), they were famed throughout the neighborhood for having a completely functional bubbler in their dining room. I'm sure this helped keep the number of dirty drinking cups down.
