"Contrary to what most people say, the most dangerous animal in the world is not the lion or the tiger or even the elephant. It's a shark riding on an elephant's back, just trampling and eating everything they see."

Are you still listening? Are you still breathing? Imagine. It gets quite lonely. It makes perfect sense. All that it seems is a dream within a dream.

amid the dizzying whirl of a nighttime fair in palmanova, a man stands still, his expression lost in the kaleidoscope of colors and lights. the vibrancy of the carousel, filled with the joyful shrieks of children, contrasts sharply with his contemplative demeanor. perhaps he's reflecting on simpler times, or maybe he's just trying to catch his breath in a world that never seems to stop spinning. the oversized figure beside him, grinning with exaggerated joy, seems almost to mock his solitude. it’s a snapshot of two worlds colliding—the innocence of childhood and the burdens of adulthood, each lost in their own orbit.
A man's conviction can lead him to great good or great evil.

The Orangutans are two species of great apes known for their intelligence, long arms and reddish-brown hair. Native to Indonesia and Malaysia, they are currently found only in rainforests on the islands of Borneo and Sumatra, though fossils have been found in Java, Vietnam and China. They are the only surviving species in the genus Pongo and the subfamily Ponginae. Their name derives from the Malay and Indonesian phrase orang hutan, meaning "man of the forest". The orangutan is an official state animal of Sabah in Malaysia. Fruit makes up 65% of the orangutan diet. Fruits with sugary or fatty pulp are favored. The fruit of fig trees are also commonly eaten since it is easy to both harvest and digest. Other food items include: young leaves, shoots, seeds and bark. Insects and bird eggs are also included.
Normally I don't like to shoot animals with bars or fences. I always try to avoid these objects like in my previous images. But in this case I wanted to show the expression of this great Ape. Ofcourse a bit sad. But looks like she's having some deep thoughts...

My buddy Pat is back again and this time he is in deep thought. When you need to stop and think for a minute, find a local restaurant on the water, go under the deck, turn a stool over on its side, sit down under some small Canon Speedlites and think for a minute. That is what everybody does, right? This was a super quick shot because I had to rush right after work to get to my son's T-Ball practice. Thanks again Patty B!

This is a reedit of one of the oldest shots in my stream. It really shows how far I have come with Photoshop. The origional RAW is very bright, though proper adjustment of the exposure yields an image with no clipping. It is the first image that I really started to learn to unlock the power of Photoshop, but wow, looking back at it, I wasn't very good at it. This has always been a favorite photo of mine, and the origional has actually been my desktop image for a long time. I always wondered why this shot wasn't more of a hit...now I'm able to separate myself a bit more from my work and can see that the old one had major flaws.
I'll have to be too slow in reciprocating again my friends:)
You must be sick and tired of hearing this:)

The David Gareja Monastery complex is one of the most remarkable and historically significant religious sites in Georgia. Located in the Kakheti region, right on the border with Azerbaijan, the complex is carved into the rocks of a rugged, semi-desert landscape. It was founded in the 6th century by the monk David Garejeli and developed into a major center of religion, art, and scholarship, particularly during the medieval period. Despite repeated invasions (including by Mongols and Persians), the complex has always retained its spiritual importance. It consists of several parts, including the still-inhabited Lavra Monastery, the hilltop caves of Udabno, and the more remote sections of Bertubani and Chichkhituri, which feature watchtowers, monastic cells, and chapels. The entire site is hewn directly into soft sandstone — a remarkable fusion of nature and devotion. Part of the monastery lies on Azerbaijani territory, which often leads to political tensions. Access and control remain subjects of ongoing diplomatic negotiations between Georgia and Azerbaijan. In this photo, we see a Georgian soldier seated quietly at the border, overlooking the monastery complex. Though on duty, he sits in deep thought — a human moment of stillness in a landscape marked by both spirituality and strategy. His presence highlights how this sacred place remains intertwined with modern geopolitical reality. Technically, photography here is not allowed — but I can never resist when a moment feels this quiet, tense, and telling. David Gareja is not only a symbol of religious devotion, but a place where past and present, faith and vigilance, powerfully converge.
Near the border with Azerbaijan, a Georgian soldier sits in quiet reflection, overlooking the ancient David Gareja Monastery carved into the desert cliffs. The site, deeply spiritual and historically significant, lies in a politically sensitive area. Photography is officially not allowed — but I couldn't resist capturing this still, powerful moment.

I've been feeling really lost and depressed past few months in terms of my career. I've been trying to hold on and stay still until it all ends. I've been praying a lot and I've been asking others to pray for me. And I've been trying to convince myself that my calling to work with people that have learning disabilities and mental health problems is a real thing. I specialize in complex and challening behaviour. I remember every person's face that I've ever worked with. I remember every person's smile. Their tears. Their grin when they've achieved something.. I also remember those people saying that I make them feel “normal”. I make them feel proud of themselves. And I just smile back and sometimes give a hug or a tap on the shoulder as a sign that I'm proud of them. I believe that those are the reasons why I do what I do for living..
Because I care. I care about the fact that God gave us all a purpose in Life. And that implies for EVERONE of us, also for those who have mental health problems and/or learning and physical disabilities.
Society is afraid to touch or to hug a disable person. People are scared. Scared of what?! Of other human beings that are physically or psychologically different?! But why...?
I understand how disable people feel. When you have a problem that is ongoing, eventually people turn away from you. They don't even ask how you're feeling anymore. Because they don't know how you'll react.
I've seen this advert on TV lately and I always stop whatever I'm doing and watch it all. It makes me think. It gives out a clear message about people with mental health problems and how society reacts to their illness. It might make you smile and it's good.

There's another video that might make you cry. But REMEMBER, this is so real and so true..
www.youtube.com/watch?v=gwuv-19XJiY&feature=player_em...
I must be brave to admit that I really miss work.. My future is still hanging in terms of my career.. I have a NEED to help people but it's all put on hold.. I don't need people to LOOK 'normal' and 'be normal'... To me, EVERY face is beautiful. And I mean it. Every person's body, face and smile looks beautiful to me.
On Sundays at my community church I meet Karen. She's blind. And when I talk to her, I always look at her eyes. And I don't care that she can't see me back. Her faith amazes me.. She's such a strong person. And she's only been Christian for the last 4 years or so. When people are dropped in Life like Karen was, they normally turn away from God and become bitter. She did the opposite. She decided to THANK God for being alive and gave her Life to Jesus.

Juzno: A penny for your thought.
Old Mather: How do I know that I'm going forward if I don't know which way I'm going? How do I know that I can examine the facts without prejudice? How can I know that there is truly an objective reality independent of my subjective proclivities? How can I trust that the bondage of the past provides direction to the future? How can I know that you are really here with me?
Juzno: Uhmm ... are you going to answer all that?
Old Mather: That will be a penny.

the photograph captures a fleeting slice of time on the streets of aix's old town, a study in light and life passing by. a man walks alone, his figure etched in sharp relief against the ancient stones that have stood witness to countless such passings. the sunlight dances upon the architecture, sketching stories that hang in the air just as the sign rue fauchier whispers its own. amidst this timeless ballet, the man's shadow stretches long and telling, a silent companion to his thoughts, a fluid echo on the cobbles that have known so many footsteps.

One of my favorite shots from 2011..at the time I didn't like it as much as I do now..
for me it symbolizes the year...a very difficult year for me, full of deep thoughts.. searching for inner strength and finding my voice...a year filled with many ups and downs, joys and heartaches..and tons of lessons and ultimately.. awakening ( still in that process)
Thank you friends for the continued support, despite me being a terrible contact lately...
I struggle to balance my love for flickr and other obligations i have in my life right now..please understand if i have not been visiting streams as much lately it is not an intentional "diss".. it's just my scatterbrained state of mind and lack of time.
BTW- i start a new job tomorrow.. first one in over 4 years! part time office manager at a chiropractor's office :-) real adult interaction! yipeeeee!
HMAM & happy holidays!
Dear Mom,
I won't bother you with my usual apologies for the lateness of my letter. And perhaps for once, I can write without going through a defeating motion of trying to explain why I chose to be here. The terrible truth is I have not been responding to many of the letters that other people have sent me since the time I got into an altercation with the son of the Police Chief. There are many uncertainties and a lot of things may no longer be unavoidable. Everything that is happening here is depressing - with maybe an extreme rare case when Pope Francis came to visit the island. He may be our one last hope to redeem this tyrannical country. Viva Il Papa. I have tried to smuggle a note to him through one of his bodyguards though I would not be able to ascertain that it will even reach him. In my letter, I have tried to explain that since the economic atom bomb had exploded years ago, ramifications beyond the ken of any normal man have far expanded. Blah. Blah. Blah. I wonder if my politically loaded monograph will make sense to him. It had to. The Pope grew up in a place where tyranny was the norm. But I can't say for certain that he would even read my letter. Anyways, I can only regard this sort of thing as another chapter in my continuing education of politics and human depravity. I got to go, mom. I can hear the sounds of revving engine from the outside. That has got to be the truck of the same military thugs who roam the streets every week. Hence, it is lights out in a few minutes. So, I'll say goodnight and sign off.
Love,
Wang

Today was one of those days that is just hard to describe. Seemed to be a long day at work and for every one thing I would accomplish I would acquire 2 more to do. Feels like my to do list is just piling up. I just feel blah, that is the best way to sum it up. So I thought I would just capture that overwhelmed blank stare that seemed to be on my face most of the day. Tomorrow is a new day.

Hi Friends, hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend!! I have to post and run but will definitely catch up with everyone's posts tonight!
Thank you for all your views, comments and favs!!!!
The Thought
A man is what he thinks all day - and it would be surprising to see someone content with everything in their life if their mind is full of resentful thoughts . . . thinking fould about someone, going against the will and laws of nature - against what relegion has defined would lead us astray.
One should try his best to keep a clear mind - accept differences and put in his 100% in an attempt to make the world a better place !
