Have you ever gone to a funeral and spent the ENTIRE TIME wondering how it would be different if it was yours?
A self portrait in sun (through a window and some blinds).

Or release the nervous tension by obsessive masturbation. Either works. So grows the tree from the bent twig.

From a series of circa-1960s D.I.Y. books called "Easi-Bild" that were published by a fellow named Donald Brann. In the beginning of each one, he wrote a little homily that tried to link up his own Confucius-like wisdom with whatever Easy Bild project was at hand.
So there would be a couple of paragraphs where he waxed poetic about some general concept essential to the good life, and then there would be a paragraph where he'd try to make you think you'd never done better by yourself than you did the moment you decided, say, to purchase the Easy Bild book on building a plywood bar in your basement.
A tragically overlooked 20th-century Thoreau was Mr. Brann.

Apparently today is Evaluate Your Life Day, which centers around you pondering these three questions:
* Where have you been?
* Where are you now?
and
* Where are you going?
Can't really do much with the first question so no point in spending too much time dwelling on it. But plenty can still be done about the latter two.
Ok, go!

Not content with a mere gaze
I fear I must take in hand what I know will scar me
Elucidations no matter how forthcoming defy all logic and rather than relent I grasp even tighter.....
In all honesty, I really thought about putting up my friends pic for this day as they took me out for a late birthday party all night long. We had a fantastic time, but the colors and content in this photo just keep me coming back, so it won in the end. And there is a star/planet at the very top of the picture, not sure what it is, but I plan to figure it out. I think its Mars?
