Kanzan Cherry Blossoms are a popular variety of flowering cherry trees known for their stunning deep pink double flowers.
Kanzan cherry trees produce large, double blossoms with 20 to 50 petals. The flowers are deep pink and resemble small roses.
These cherry blossoms typically bloom in late April, about 10-14 days after the Yoshino cherry blossoms. Their peak bloom date is around April 22.
Kanzan cherry trees grow to a height of 3 to 9 meters (10 to 30 feet) and have a vase-shaped habit that becomes more spreading as they mature. They are deciduous and prefer well-drained locations in full sun.
Kanzan cherry trees are widely planted in Europe and North America for cherry blossom viewing. They are favored for their large flowers and ability to grow well in cold regions.
These trees are perfect for adding a splash of color to gardens and parks during spring. 🌸

Schlumbergera bridgesii - This is one flower in the sun(with only a crop and no color added) of my big Christmas Cactus. There were over 50 flowers on it for New Years Day 2012! I've had it for over 30 years as a house plant, started from one leaf clipping from my Mom and another from my Father- in-Law.

There are relatively few flowers that begin blooming in autumn and put on a good show despite worsening weather, and schizostylis deserves to be much better known for this virtue. The plants resemble small clumps of fragile gladioli, with linear leaves and upright flower-spikes, each topped by several flowers like wide open crocus. This variety has salmon-pink flowers, 5cm (2in) across and larger than most varieties. Grow it in small clumps to make a really impressive display. In bad weather, pick blooms and bring indoors to flower away from frost

Can never remember what these small flowers are called, but they always grow in the butterfly room in the ENMAX Conservatory at the Calgary Zoo. Macro shot taken on 6 October 2012.

This bangle has been embedded with loops and swirls of copper wire. The effect is a delicate and subtle wire design preserved for eternity in a light cranberry raisin colored resin.
I was going to put a frame around it but it lessened the impact of the brilliant flowers on this azalea. This variety really knocks your socks off when you encounter one! They're always loaded with blossoms.
The azalea is a member of the genus Rhododendron. (it used to be considered as separate but has been reclassified. It's an evergreen which in the wild grows as a small shrub (up to six feet). There are hundreds of azalea varieties.
The Kurume azalea is a hybrid of R. obtusum and R. kiusianum, both native to the island of Kyushu, the southernmost island of Japan. They are often referred to as dwarf, although they may reach 4 to 6 feet in height and spread. Kurume Hybrids are hardier than the Southern Indian Hybrids

Hedges with these beautiful pink flowers that grow in profuse bunches on stems with wicked thorns can be see all over the city of Curitiba, PR, Brazil.
This Pansy flower's petals looked like they were hiding something. It made me think of a fairy's wings. Hope you enjoy the whimsical delights that come your way. The Bible says that all nature sings, so, who knows, maybe God has given them a way of communicating that only those with eyes and ears to see and understand can ever know that its there. Henceforth, maybe that is how the idea of fairies has come about. There is a real spiritual world out there, and it would be foolish to think we understand it fully. Only God knows it all! How wonderful that He shares tiny glimpses with us! Enjoy those beautiful spiritual vistas when they come!
With our cold wet spring, many camellias bloomed later, but they've more than made up for it in colour and form! (I even liked the little bite out of a leaf...it somehow adds character :)
