We deep fried a turkey, and the oil was hot anyway. And we had this banana....
...It was really tasty. And I don't even really like banana.
Through a small crack in the deep cloud cover the sun spills light to splash accross the grasslands like liquid gold, its wave receeding without ever touching the distant mountains... How can one not love the capricious glory of the sun's dance with the storm?

We devoured this pretty quickly, best when eaten hot. Cloves of garlic (with skin on) deep fried and spinkled with salt. You take off the skin before eating it and trash the skin in the convenient bowl the waitress serves with this dish.

Mai Po Marshes are a nature reserve located in San Tin near Yuen Long in Hong Kong. They are within Yuen Long District. They are adjacent to the Frontier Closed Area. Beyond that are the border with mainland China and, on the other side of the border, the modern city of Shenzhen.
The 380-hectare Mai Po Nature Reserve is managed by World Wide Fund for Nature Hong Kong. As a haven for thousands of migratory waterbirds every year, Mai Po Nature Reserve and the surrounding Inner Deep Bay wetlands sets a prime example of conservation success for regional wetlands. The six main habitats in Mai Po Nature Reserve – gei wais, freshwater ponds, inter-tidal mudflats, mangroves, reedbeds and fishponds – are home to a host of wildlife. Joining one of our eco visits is the best and simplest way to experience the beauty of this truly unique and ecologically diverse wetland location
It is part of Deep Bay, an internationally significant wetland that is actually a shallow estuary, at the mouths of Sham Chun River, Shan Pui River (Yuen Long Creek) and Tin Shui Wai Nullah. Inner Deep Bay is listed as a Ramsar site under Ramsar Convention in 1995, and supports globally important numbers of wetland birds, which chiefly arrive in winter and during spring and autumn migrations. The education centre and natural conservation area is 380 acres (1.5 km2) wide and its surrounding wetland has an area of 1500 acres (6 km2). It provides a conservation area for mammals, reptiles, insects, and over 350 species of birds.
The reserve is managed by the World Wide Fund for Nature Hong Kong since 1983 and WWF runs professionally guided visits for the public and schools to the reserve ; the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department has responsibilities for the Ramsar site as a whole. Deep Bay faces threats, including pollution, and rising mudflat levels that perhaps arise from intense urbanization, especially (in recent years) on the north, Shenzhen side of the bay.
In recent years, it housed over 55,000 migrating birds, including Saunders's gull (Chroicocephalus saundersi) and a quarter of the world's black-faced spoonbill (Platalea minor) population. It also has inter-tidal mangroves along with 24 traditionally operated shrimp ponds (called gei wai locally) to provide food for the birds. Mai Po Marshes receives some 32,000 visitors annually. In April 2020 a pair of spoonbill sandpiper were spotted at the reserve.
While the area was taken out of the Frontier Closed Area on 15 February 2012, Mai Po Nature Reserve remains a restricted area under the Wild Animals Protection Ordinance (Chapter 170) in order to minimize disturbance to wildlife.
The marshes are also have rich insect biodiversity, being the place the endemic Mai Po bent winged firefly (pteroptyx maipo Ballantyne) was discovered. Not only was the species new to science, but it was also the first time for the genus pteroptyx has been recorded in China.

In the end, the signature food was just meh. We thought it would be a slice of pizza that was deep fried. Instead, it was basically a piece of fried dough with tomato sauce and crappy Parmesan cheese on it.
Not recommended!

I started my first project for my therapeutic color theory class. We had to make Tints (pure color + white) , Tones( pure color + grey) and Shades(pure color + black) of our chosen pure color. I chose Orange Lake Deep... I didn't know that you make brown by mixing orange and black together. Just a fun tidbit that I know now.
Just around the corner from the waterfalls in Deep Creek, in Bryson City, NC within the confines of Great Smoky Mountains National Park are some amazing rapids. In fact, this part of the park is very popular for tubing. For those with the camera and tripod, it's also fantastic for blurred water shots like this. I opted to go B&W on this shot to get a more abstract artsy quality to it.

My first try of veggie menu for vegetarian festival this year. It wasn't easy to prepare but it's easy to cook! ^__^ It was kind of seasoned dough then soak fried in vegetable oil. It's yummy but fatty as well!!!
