Third and final shot from Long Reef the other morning.

Went for a different feel to this one with more of a desaturated look. I was packing up then spun around to capture this scene. The sun was hitting this little shrub which instantly caught my eye.

Have a good week all.

A 32-image panoramic view of Narrabeen Lakes taken at the southern point of the shallow body of water. Home to dozens of bird species and has been a point of recreation and water-sports for decades. This panorama was captured with my Nikon D7100, a tripod, and processed with Adobe LightRoom. The full size image is a mind-blowing 34379 × 5502 pixels in dimensions. Teaming up ... The Sun Run from Dee Why to Manly is either 7km or 10km, a little hilly at first before a nice flat finish. These shots aren't of the winners and the super fit bods, they are of everyday people out to set a PB or just get a little fitter. To all of them, well done and congratulations; the joy at making the distance was inspiring.

It's been a long time

Dusted these off today. Took some SandTrooper ones too but I don't think they turned out as well.

We will soon be celebrating the second anniversary of the Northern Beaches B-Line service. So, at a loose end on a Sunday afternoon I took myself off to check our services in north of the Spit Bridge,

The day I didn't take Zeus's roof and suffered the consequences.

This day the weather forecast was for rain, but in the morning there was a lovely blue sky and we weren't planning to go far, so i decided to leave the 1.2kg roof (plus the four plastic covers for the front, back and sides to keep out rain - 0.5kg) behind. We ended up meandering our way from Brookvale to Mona Vale and on our way back in the afternoon, after meeting lots of nice people along the way, we stopped at a huge dog park. I was chatting to a man and mentioned how much I like it when the forecasters get it wrong when they predict rain and it doesn't.

He pointed over my shoulder at the rapidly approaching Wall of Grey in the sky. About 5 minutes later it started to rain a little. Everyone with dogs started running to their cars to escape. We sheltered under a tree for a bit, but I got impatient and decided to head off in the light rain. A few kilometres down the road the rain increased so we stopped at a long narrow bus stop to wait and see if there looked like a break coming. I put His Highness's pillows and blanket on the bench seat to dry off, they were only damp! About 3 minutes later a bus screamed past and changed all that when a wave of water drenched us and the bus shelter completely thanks to the very deep puddle on the road which I had not noticed!

I packed up and decided we weren't going to get much wetter, so may as well brave it back to Brookvale via the Dee Why shops where I took this photo of Mr Zeusy looking very unimpressed.

In a year and a half of touring Zeusy hasn't got wet in his trailer until now.

I got up very early this morning to photograph the dangerous surf. There were a lot of photographers there, but I think I chose the best location: before long several of them came over to the same area I was at.

Looks good Large on Black.

Looking down to the tip of Long Reef on the Northern Beaches

of Sydney at low tide. The rock shelf has a large variety of sea life and there is plenty to see snorkelling around the edges. It was always a great place to go and explore when we were kids.

A beautiful afternoon on Dee Why beach with the sun low in the sky creating some lovely shadows and warm tones.

A sunny day down at Dee Why Beach in early October, with Long Reef with it's seaside golf club, a great walk along of 4km of clean white sand, in the distance.

Great air,

Great waves,

Great rocks,

Great weeds?!
