On September 14, Solana, a decentralized blockchain, faced a prolonged outage when its blockchain network remained unavailable for more than 17 hours, after weeks of spectacular gains during which the price of its coin was more than fivefold in value.
The Solana Foundation released an initial post-mortem of the event of the incident by shedding additional light on the core reason for last week’s network outage.
During those agonizing 17 hours, the system failure held $11 billion in investor funds. SOL prices fell 5.06% during the outage, from $171.48 to $142.86.
According to the Foundation, “the cause of the network stall was a denial of service attack. At 12:00 UTC, Grape Protocol launched their IDO on Raydium, and bots generated transactions that flooded the network. These transactions created a memory overflow, which caused many validators to crash, forcing the network to slow down and eventually stall. The network went offline when the validator network could not agree on the current state of the blockchain, which prevented the network from confirming new blocks".
Our reluctance to following some simple steps to prevent wastage of food is becoming an act of sin now. We, very irresponsibly are tossing life-saving food it bins as if it is of no good use for no one. The food we are wasting weighs billions of tons. And, the amount of food not being used to satisfy global hunger is epidemically increasing.

Climate activists held a Boston Fee Party rally on the Boston Harborwalk to highlight the reliance on fossil fuels for energy resulting in skyrocketing electric rates. The crowd of advocates, health professionals, elected officials and residents encouraged Governor Healey and her administration to lead Massachusetts in pushing the regional energy grid operator, Independent System Operator-New England (ISO-NE), to be more transparent, democratic and more renewable. Advocates called on ISO-NE to work with states and communities to stop propping up dirty energy electrical generation sources for use in the Northeast. Additionally, transition to 100% renewable energy through conservation, electrification and expansion of clean, local, safe renewable energy sources. Encourage small-scale and decentralized energy production and storage that protects the environment. Govern transparently and democratically with community input on infrastructure siting.

Trieste is a city and seaport in northeastern Italy. It is the capital and largest city of the autonomous region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, as well as of the regional decentralization entity of Trieste.
Trieste is located at the head of the Gulf of Trieste, on a narrow strip of Italian territory lying between the Adriatic Sea and Slovenia; Slovenia lies close, at approximately 8 km (5 mi) east and 10–15 km (6–9 mi) southeast of the city, while Croatia is about 30 km (19 mi) to the south of the city.

Trieste belonged to the Habsburg monarchy from 1382 until 1918. In the 19th century, the monarchy was one of the Great Powers of Europe and Trieste was its most important seaport. As a prosperous trading hub in the Mediterranean region, Trieste grew to become the fourth largest city of the Austro-Hungarian Empire (after Vienna, Budapest, and Prague). In the fin de siècle, it emerged as an important hub for literature and music. Trieste underwent an economic revival during the 1930s, and the Free Territory of Trieste became a major site of the struggle between the Eastern and Western blocs after the Second World War.
Trieste, a deep-water port, is a maritime gateway for northern Italy, Germany, Austria and Central Europe. It is considered the end point of the maritime Silk Road, with its connections to the Suez Canal and Turkey. Since the 1960s, Trieste has emerged as a prominent research location in Europe because of its many international organisations and institutions. The city lies at the intersection of Latin, Slavic and Germanic cultures, where Central Europe meets the Mediterranean Sea, and is home to diverse ethnic groups and religious communities.
Trieste has the highest percentage of researchers in Europe in relation to population. Città della Barcolana ("City of the Barcolana"), Città della bora ("City of the bora"), Città del vento ("City of Wind"), "Vienna by the sea" and "City of Coffee" are epithets used to describe Trieste.
The Permanent Secretariat of the Community of Democracies received funding from the Government of Canada for a series of high-level workshops on decentralization in Ukraine.
Former Hungarian Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsány and former Slovak Prime Minister Iveta Radicova are scheduled to facilitate workshops for members of parliament, elected municipal leaders and civil society representatives from three regions of Ukraine (Dnepropetrovsk, Odessa and Lviv), followed by summary workshop in Kiev.
