. . . You would think this guy would be really easy to spot against a nice white blanket of snow! In reality, he was hunting in thick brush and running pretty fast, so it was hard to follow him and get a clear shot!
Have a great week Facebook, Flickr, and 500px friends!
One of four photos taken this morning from different balconies on the 34th floor of our condo building. It feels like -28 C in Toronto, and you can see steam rising from the lake.
Thanks for visiting, enjoy your day!

The Emerald Toucanet is a small toucan of the mountainous regions of Central and South America. Like most toucans, its diet consists predominantly of fruit, although they will eat insects, small lizards, and eggs. Apparently, without adequate fruit in their diets they are susceptible to a disease of iron overload, similar to hemochromatosis in humans. These beautiful birds apparently adapt well to captivity and are said to make good pets. Hmm....toucanets as pets. That’s got a ring to it! #EmeraldToucanets

3rd December 2017:
"Mum took me on top of the bedroom door, on the breakfast bar and then finally stood on the bed to take me while I was napping in the top of the wardrobe.
The picture making thing didn't like the light anywhere, but it doesn't like inside ... Silly thing.
Anyway, when she'd finished taking me from the bed, she said she'd got the right picture; at long last. As I'm already black she turned the rest white, I think ...
Oh, while I'm here, I think I need to explain to some of Mum's American friends as you don't speak English like Mum and Dad do, or so Mum says.
When I say "I-za" gone mono, I mean "I've gone mono." The 'I' in I-za is a hard 'I' as in iron, but my real name Izzy is a soft 'I' as in igloo.
Mum says that her American friends use the hard 'I' more than she does, but isn't sure whether or not her Canadian or Australian friends do or not. But, thinks her New Zealand friends use the soft 'I' more than the others. I hope you understand that, it's not easy to explain when you're a French cat who happens to speak English too."

Nature and evolution have a strange but predictable way of filling ecological niches. The roseate spoonbill is an elaborately adorned example of natures evolutionary capabilities. A unique bird with a spatulate bill, unlike any other, capable of sifting nutrition from the murky mud in shallow pools of water. Always a phenomenon to observe, these feathered friends are astounding in breeding plumage, defining the bizarrely beautiful. #RoseateSpoonbill

Historic Day. Commencement on 9 December 2017 of passenger services on the new Luas Cross City Tram route from St. Stephen's Green to Broombridge, Dublin, Ireland. The route links up the existing Green and Red lines.
I was fortunate to make the journey on the very first Tram from St. Stephens Green to Broombridge. I then got off and we went for a stroll. I took a later Tram back.

When you’re happy, sing from the highest hill, chant from the tallest crest, bellow from the biggest branch, and resound like the roaring ocean. But when you’re just very tired…simply yawn! #SnowyOwls
The retirement homes are coming along really fast and it's a far bigger complex than I'd first thought it would be. I now can't get the whole site in on one shot.
We had a slight scare on Saturday or Sunday when we had some pretty high winds. One of the three cranes was repositioned so that it faced our garden. Obviously something had caused a scare and they'd changed the direction to prevent it from causing any damage if it fell.
