My daughter is quite a talented crocheter so for today's 365 challenge picture I thought I'd feature some of her work. Her online shop can be found at: www.etsy.com/shop/RedRoomStudios?ref=l2-shopheader-name
This took longer than I expected to set up and shoot, haha.
Kevin and I went on a quest to find a small flashlight at 1 am last night. We were successful.
There were some other iterations of this that I might put up later. It was fun!
Plenty of pencil sharpening took place in preparing for tomorrows solution review.
The Staedtler Noris 'B' grade is my favourite pencil. Whilst you can find the 'HB' grade by the bucketful the 'B' is not as common so I order mine in packs of 12 from Amazon. I go through a lot of these so need to have plenty in stock.

have a great weekend! ♥
for the first time, showing off the white floor boards in my house. i love them!
i'm experimenting a lot more with photography now. i don't want to be confined to any particular style. i just photograph whatever appeals to me, whatever inspires me.
i still have so much to learn about photography, and i'm going to make a real effort to get to grips with the technical side which i've never paid much attention to. i'm also going to finally get new lenses.

A little poppy from last November just happened to leap out at me when I started think about todays 365 picture. I placed it on some Mitsumata sticks, had a play with composition and then finished off in photoshop and Nik. For 10 minutes, or so, I forgot all about all the decorating and household chores I should be doing.
This is my entry for #55 "Picture based on a Poem" for 114 pictures in 2014. The poem is The Old Vicarage, by Rupert Brooke.
You've been framed!
A necklace, my favourite one, a camera with a diamond (from my sis-in-not-law :)) with my unwell Klara in the background... Can you see the redness beneath her nose? Poor darling....!

I don't need cool. I need warm, dammit!

30 Days of Perception - Day 29
Wonder: a feeling of amazement and admiration when taking notice of something quite remarkable.
Nature, in all its forms fills me with wonder. As I see, and admire from my kitchen window, my little basket of strawberry plants. I find it so amazing that the leaves know exactly when to change colour. They're prompted by the cooler nights and shorter days which trigger changes in the leaves that have consequences on their colour. The productions of green chlorophyll stops and the green fades leaving yellow, orange and red pigments
The changing colours of leaves fills me with wonder.
”If we meet life with wonder, it’s always new, always fresh. We don’t need experiences - just encounters.” ~ Maggie Ross.
Today, I encountered these colourful strawberry plant leaves and they filled me with joy!
Then this ebony bird beguiling my sad fancy into smiling,
By the grave and stern decorum of the countenance it wore,
`Though thy crest be shorn and shaven, thou,' I said, `art sure no craven.
Ghastly grim and ancient raven wandering from the nightly shore -
Tell me what thy lordly name is on the Night's Plutonian shore!'
Quoth the raven, `Nevermore.'
The Raven was Published on this day- January 29, in 1845. I have my degree in English Literature, so I had to celebrate Poe's haunting masterpiece.
I tried to get my hands into this shot, as our Item over at Item Collab today was hands. This is the best shot with my hands, as the rest of them look funny because of the feathers I had glued onto myself. Yes. I glued feathers onto myself. And my spirit gum had dried up, so I used Elmer's glue. It was ridiculous and terribly fun.
So a Poe Celebration
Hands for Item Collab
I was just strolling around town and turned around a corner and there sitting and out of breath was this hot Russian spy, a true femme fatale. I was trying to be nonchalant, but I was nervous...stoked that I got some international intrigue for my photo on Day 29. If you take the tiniest of months, I've done one!
I haven't had a lot of time for baking in the last few months, so I took a break from procrastinating - errr, I mean writing my papers today and made these. They came out just as lemony as I'd hoped!
For We're Here - Dreams of flying
Well I started out channeling von Holleben, but wound up going somewhere else. Not sure what this is. LOL

So the promise of snow and snow storms loomed on the weather again ... the clouds on the horizon at sunset looked promising but they failed to deliver more than a dusting.
Fingers crossed we get to build a snowman soon and have some snowy day fun
While my guys played their computer games with each other , I was exploring the features of my new d7100.. the result is this picture taken on the setting "High Key" with the following B&W conversion.. December Diary, Day29 of31
Day 29 is a hand held shot of the moon, pretty much the same as saturday i have been running around all day and not had chance to take a decent picture, so as i was about to leave for darts i grabbed my camera and got this shot, its not the sharpest moon picture i have taken but it will have to do for today.

Day 29 ~ 365: the 2013 edition
Small boys exploring the coastline... happy days. Yesterday we had a morning shot in full colour and today we have the reverse.
We've had a lot of snow and bitterly cold temperatures so far in January, so much so that I've failed to enjoy it. I usually love snow, but the bitter cold and life circumstances have caused me to get tired of it this winter. Today the sun was shining and it got up to 20 degrees F. After zub zero temperatures the past few days it felt like a heat wave, so I decided to go down to the creek with my camera and see what I could find. Surprise! I discovered the tranquility and beauty that my life has been missing these past few weeks. Our creek seldom has this much ice on it because we rarely get consistently freezing temperatures. May I never forget that the hard times also bring beauty!

On Friday mornings I often go to a meeting where I lead a meditation. Today I chose compassion, because who doesn't need more of that?
There's a suggestion in the script to place your hand over your heart. The main phrases which get repeated are:
May you be free from this suffering.
May you be kind and gentle with yourself.
May you find peace and ease.
