Comments and feedback welcome.

I'm so glad that today's challenge is orange! It's one of my favorite colors, and was just the thing I needed to dispell the wintery white gloom that has decended over me. I usually love snow, but two weeks of it with bitter cold temperatures, and more predicted, well, it's just too much. And right now there's a drift blocking my driveway and my neighbor who plows it has been out of town. I'm really a homebody, but just knowing I can't get out. (Well, I can get out, it's getting back in that may be a problem - my driveway is up hill!) And he'll be back and get it plowed just in time for the bitter cold to hit again. And did I mention I live in the country? With slick, drifting roads? Anyway, I'm so glad that today's challenge is orange!

Relaxing a bit .

ein wenig ausruhen

i've been passing this gate going to and from the motel this week. Decided to stop this afternoon and capture this memory

.

This train, Yurikiamome runs slowly, but I always feel like a child who is getting on a roller coaster especially while the train is running the next loop bridge.

Yeah. We're expecting. Again. its been 6 years. Are we old? Yes. Are we excited? Yes!. Are we prepared? There's no such thing. So, if you'll excuse me ... I'm going to start catching up on sleep ... so I'll be ready for those upcoming nights of diapers and crying.

30 Days of Perception - Day 26 - Change

This is a difficult challenge since the weather is uniform grey. The best I could do was to show photos taken through my kitchen window at different times of the day:

1) Morning 2) Midday 3) Evening with the lights on in the building opposite mine.

i could have probably done a lot better with redder lips, someone helping me with the writing and more time spent on it but i'm tired...

this made explore! thank you guys!!

Skating along the Rideau Canal, as seen from the Corktown Footbridge, at the end of Somerset St.

This is my one & only attempt at tilt-shift this week - hopefully that challenge will repeat!

Eastern Flight 201 with connecting service to Buenos Aires is now grounded due to inclement weather. We're sorry for any possible inconvenience. Free coffee will be served at Gate 17.

Today I`m wearing a new dress.

"Robe Melanie" from "Un ete couture", the pattern in this book are from "Republique du chiffon" a french indepent designer. I love the simple but so chic designs so much.

Weather: 16-26°C, sun, clouds and now it starts raining

ICAD Day26 'Space'....the Seattle Space Needle whimsically drawn with my sewing machine a bit wonky and askew....with threads left hanging. The Space Needle is, after all, 50 years old not to say there are any hanging threads. Watercolors and black thread stitching.

I love riding bikes in the forest...

We are members of the Brookfield Zoo in the Chicago area and lucky for us it is a short 5 minute drive from our house so we can pop in for an hour here and there and make it less of an event.

It is kind of nice when the cold keeps most people away and the animals are active. You typically have the place to yourself which is great for picture taking! I typically leave with a different "favorite" experience than the time before (and the time before that). Today we spent a lot of time in the giraffe house watching this little guy and the others hang out. This new addition was born in mid-November and in this photo he is sitting down next to one of others. I also had a close up that I quite liked of another one of them giraffes which I included below.

For the Me Again Monday Scavenger Hunt: "White"

For the record, this is turned out far moodier than planned. The white stuff was actually a pretty change of scenery! (It's leaving again soon right?)

Overnight slow cooker steel cut oats

I am so behind it's not even funny anymore.

I just haven't had the time lately and I can't even find the time to post my own jump shots.

Hopefully over the next few days I should be back. Until then, I'll be a bit quiet.

Pre-sunrise over the Emerald City.

The light set up that I tried last Saturday and didn't like. I liked it better this Saturday. It's funny, this isn't the lighting I had planned on for this shot but I like it better. So last weeks shot was a backup plan light wise and this week was a back up which was last weeks plan...get it?

Day 26 For as much as I hate the snow, I sure have been out shooting in it a lot.
