The sith started out dark jedi who at a time when the Jedi began to organize with mutual dogma, they desired their end be fulfilled. Like all evil doers, Sith are born of selfish desires, lusting for power, hating that which seperates them from their goals and willing to kill for prestige! Like any heathen, they do what they please believing the force is theirs to command however like a cult they have a master and an idol in which to seek to best or become.
The Sith oath:
Peace is a lie, there is only power
Through power I gain strength
Through strength I gain will
Through will I gain dominion
The force will set me free!
Evil as they come, evil as they go. Darth Maim once Kaal Un'Farluh once heard a spirit speak to him. He followed it till one day it was clear before him, it spoke to him that his destiny was to conquer the order! He obtained his entitled name through maiming countless people with raw force! He was found and trained by the Jedi yet the spirit kept beckoning him, the Jedi Masters told him to ignore the enticings and to listen to the mediclorians but he felt it was wrong to leave behind something that he had heard as a child. He became the most aggressive student leaving many pupils of the order on edge about him. One day he challenged a Jedi Master to a duel due to mass arrogance, the Jedi Master accepted but his aggressive passion nearly led to the Master's doom. As this was discovered he was henceforth banished, he later came across a sith lord who took him in. He advanced as he did in the order, yet many sith students sought to outdo him! He was ruthless, barbaric, savage and even cruel in his methods of prestige and power. He never once smiled, the lines on his face were a tribal tattoo but later molded as part of his body. As he slew sith masters and even dominated a lord the ultimate sith smiled pleasurably that this student was unpredictable and powerful! One day he went into battle on Cabon 2 against a Jedi who was a match to his power, though he expected to win he was cast down and stripped of power. In the end he only wanted death, so he took his own lightsaber and committed suicide for he would not be humiliated ever!
Beware the dark side -
Fear leads to Anger
Anger leads to Hate
Hate leads to Aggression
Aggression leads to Suffering
Suffering leads to Selfish Will
and Selfish Will completes the path to the Dark Side!
See? This is why "old school" Sith like Palpatine and Dooku go "au naturale",
Anyone who wears more tattoos and eyeliner than a Cher impersonator is just begging for trouble.
