The official Star Wars fan festival was held in Anaheim, CA this year. Enclosed in this album are miscellaneous photos (DSLR and iphone) from the event. I would say that Ian thoroughly enjoyed his birthday weekend. He was able to see several actors, meet his favorite authors, and talk about the Star Wars EU with like-minded folks.

When I started taking photos, a bearded man with white hair down to his waist leaned out of a nearby house, topless, to ask what I was doing.

When I explained that I just thought that the stuff on the fender looked cool, he suddenly became very amenable.

Darth Vader

Star Wars / LEGO Art 2020

We were at Disney in Orlando, Florida over the last week. It was Star Wars weekend so the SW characters were out and about. I caught Darth Maul while he was preparing for an autograph...his anger was very convincing. I'm not sure it was all him being in character, either.

There is just something inherently hysterical about a kid fighting Darth Maul while wearing Perry ears.

Here are some photos of my Midi Imperial Starfighters, including modifications to set 75347. Free instructions for all of these are on Rebrickable.

This little group started with the modified TIE Bomber. I added surface detail to this ship as well as a more interesting bomb loading and dropping mechanism and space for the gonk droid in the pilot-side of the hull. The TIE Fighter and Vader's TIE Advanced are built to match the proportions and scale of the Bomber, using the same cockpit style. They can be built invididually but my intention was that they're a modification of the Bomber set, with only £10 of extra parts needed in addition to 75347.

This is a limited edition artist proof battle-damaged Darth Maul lightsaber from Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menance.

The Letterman Digital Arts Center (LDAC), located in the Presidio, has been the combined home of Industrial Light & Magic, LucasArts, and Lucasfilm Limited since June 25, 2005. The $350-million, 850,000-square-foot center sits on a 23-acre lot and is home to 1500 employees. The grounds were designed by landscape architect Lawrence Halprin, who also restored San Francisco's Ghirardelli Square. The design architect for the buildings was Gensler, and architect of record was HKS, Inc. The lobby of Building B is open to the public during regular business hours and contains a gallery of Lucasfilm memorabilia.
