The greatest achievement was at first and for a time a dream. The oak sleeps in the acorn, the bird waits in the egg, and in the highest vision of the soul a waking angel stirs. Dreams are the seedlings of realities. -- James Allen

My father sent me some pictures from his recent Florida vacation... I think I am glad I didnt go. I would have come back home to depressed...
This eagle certainly did dare and carries away it's prize.
A revisit to these guys is high on my list of things to do in 2018. It was certainly one of my best days out in 2017 despite the poor light conditions.
A true unquestionable master of the skies the magnificent white tailed eagle. Seen here making off with it's catch, the UK's largest most powerful and arguably most beautiful bird .
The eagles are a fabulous advert for conservation and a great blueprint for the reintroduction of other former native species.

Many thanks to all those who take the time to comment on my photos. It is truly appreciated.

Shown here is the 11th century mountaintop fortress of Burg Hohenwerfen which sits high above the village of Werfen in the Austrian Alps about 25km south of Salzburg. Although portrayed in the movie Where Eagles Dare, the castle is now a falconry center and museum, and is accessible by a short, if steep, pathway from the village. Image taken while MK and I were wandering through Austria last week. :-)

She said:
"I want someone who knows that love isn't a game.
Someone who knows that love is not measured by the absence we leave in it, but by the time we devote to it.
That true desire is not fueled by absence, but by presence.
That the deepest desire doesn't rise from frustration, but from attentive fulfillment.
That a lasting relationship is not built on inaccessibility, but on availability.
Love should never be a doubt, but a conviction.
This is where fidelity is found: in daily attention.
Through the repetition of simple gestures, rather than by the rarity of passionate impulses.
Not that the future would be filled only with moments of happiness, but that we will be together to get through it."
Because this is how she wants to love:
"No matter what."
No way! The one on the right dug it up, but the one on the left took it away eventually.

Il tempo che ci è concesso di vivere è troppo breve per essere sprecato come una cosa da poco, i valori in cui crediamo devono trovare il loro giusto cammino. Occorre il coraggio di prendere una decisione e puntare la barca verso il destino.

" I dare you to touch that turkey," said fawn number one. " I double dare you to chase the turkey," said fawn number two. Fawn number one chased the turkey :-).
Would you dare to come closer?
Would you dare to look into my eyes?
Would you dare to smell the scent of my rose?
Would you dare to brush your lips against mine?
If you did, what would happen?

Cows are usually skittish and fearful of us. It’s no wonder, the hell we put them through. Taking their photo is something that almost never happens for me. The car already frightens them, and then when a human emerges from this metal cage, it’s basically the end times.
But along a Summer Road I’ve photographed before, I came across cows and heifers on both sides of the road. They were behind fences, and there were no young and frightened bulls to be seen.
The older cows were immediately uneasy, but the heifers, maybe a year old, were curious. Their eyes met mine, and they stood watching me. Another walked closer to get a better look.
I slowly went for my camera and began talking to them in a soft voice. I have no idea if this mattered, but it put me at ease. I walked from the road, over a small ditch, and into the grass where the barbed wire fence was strung, separating the cows from the road.
They stood, just looking, though I could see the clouds of hesitation and anxiety building behind their eyes. I lifted the camera and focused. This is usually as far as I’ll get with cows. At this point, they’re taking no chances and run away, often creating a mini-stampede.
This time, however, they just watched. They looked into the camera. There were three of them - two younger, one older. I was afraid that the loud click of the shutter and mirror slap of the Mamiya RB67 might scare them away, but even that hardly registered.
