What makes walking through woods in sunshine so uplifting.
Many thanks for all views, fav's - and particularly comments - all are greatly appreciated!
I woke up suddenly after feeling a strong vibration and decided to check around the house.
It was dark and cold, i didn't have good visibility when suddenly in front of me appeared this creature.
He had pointed ears, glowing eyes, a horn and an evil presence.
I begged him to spare me and he had a terrifying laugh then he disappeared as he had appeared.
Not having understood what had happened to me or if it was only an illusion I went back to my bed to end the night...

Surfs up for this 1950 Ford (2 door) Country Squire in dappled light. The second year of the new 'shoe box' design, that is the flat sided....no running board modern design. The 'shoe box' design helped Ford to regain the number 1 sales leader previously lost to both Chevy and Chrysler Corp.
This and it's twin in the background, are sweet restorations and ready for the beach. Taken in Carmel, Ca.

In this approximately 45 year old female box turtle we see vividly the dappled sunlight falling through the oak trees onto the forest floor. This animal lives in a wooded ravine between housing developments in a major metropolitan area. I hesitate to interfere with their lives even to the extent of picking one up for a photo- one must always place the creature exactly where it was found.
Rare light on a cloudy morning dapples Mt. Sarbach in the distance as the Mistaya River disappears into the canyon. Canadian Rockies, Alberta.

At the very top on the right wing of the castle, there is a balcony with a private dance hall.
It is a place dedicated to parties and receptions.
The king's bodyguard and the queen's lady were discussing landscaping together that might please the king and queen.
Soon a reception was going to be scheduled for the 10 years of marriage of the king and the queen.
They both had to combine their ideas for the result to be breathtaking.

I appreciate your interest in my work. Thank you for your visit.
It was the climactic battle between the Ice Horse and the Sky Horse to see which of the two would win this kingdom.
Both are very strong and neither wants to give up their place as winner.
However, it will only take one who gives in.

Shot on one of the hottest days last year, as we were driving to Leith Hall in Aberdeenshire. It's a beautiful canopy of trees that dapple the road as we drive along. I use the small Sony RX100 to shoot out of the passenger-side window as we drive. It needs to be set on auto as the light changes so quickly, and Manual is not an option!
I used this shot as the starting point of a short article called "when the camera can't quite cope" as there were extremes of light and shade in the same shot. It is part of the post processing that I love to do. This is the SOOC original, and the story moves to: theliddells.com/help-the-camera/
It is a process in stages, to adjust the light and dark areas, and generally bring out what the eye can see, but the camera can't quite handle.
Hope you enjoy the read, and the final version ;o)

I hope you can all bear with me on puppy photos...I've been sick and really need to get out and get some new photos...so I haven't been very creative getting images posted. It's all about easy...what is easiest! lol...have a nice day everyone! I've forgotten how sharp puppy teeth are...ouch!! :) What do you think of these odd markings? lol
Not a big fan of taking pictures with late morning sun but really like the light and how this one turned out.
Sindy Dapple Grey Horse was sold with a saddle and bridle. It was first available 1982.
Sindy is wearing Pony Rider from 1983
Evening sunlight dapples the water of the Allt Coire Eoghainn (Stream of Ewan's Corrie - no, I don't know who Ewan was) as it tumbles nearly 1000m down the southern flank of Ben Nevis.
Strangely enough for me, this is neither textured nor HDR .. although it is a merging job from 2 shots: an under-exposed one (-1EV) for the water and a normally-exposed one for the rest.
Standing on the rocks above the waterfall of Skelwith Force, we can follow the water down as it crashes into the clear pool below, as sunlight dapples through the trees.
A series of photos from a walk up and over Ingleborough in the Yorkshire Dales National Park on a lovely day in late summer 2022.
Two previous attempts at this peak had been thwarted by clag and rain but, with no sign of either, the omens were good.
The wider view of my previous post. I couldn’t decide which I preferred.
Late afternoon sunlight dapples over the East Baldwin Valley as the sun sets behind the summit of Colden to the southwest with snow clinging on to the peaks of Carraghan and Beinn-Y-Phott. This is a 16:9 crop (always one of my favourites) and was exposed in a single image which is testament to how good dynamic range is in modern sensors now. I've not been very active photography wise lately as i've been riddled by non stop colds but hopefully will be out and about in the weeks ahead to capture some Springtime photographic goodness!

Morning light dapples a riot of ragwort wildflowers.
DeKalb County (Clairmont Heights), Georgia, USA.
12 April 2025.
▶ See a closer view of a ragwort wildflower: here.

▶ Geographical notes:
☞ As seen on the purple-blazed Three Creeks Trail: one in a "labyrinth of soft-surfaced trails" in and around a 120-acre suburban Piedmont forest located in three Atlanta, Georgia-metropolitan-area DeKalb County parks: Mason Mill Park, Medlock Park, and Melton Park.
☞ The three creeks of the trail's name are Glenn Creek, Burnt Fork Creek, and South Fork Peachtree Creek. The wildflowers lie in wetlands of the third.
