In the year, 1518 a woman named Frau Troffea
Started dancing in Strasbourg
and couldn't stop.
An epidemic of joy
The craze spread
The uncontrollable desire to move
Neighbors and passing witnesses
Were infected like a fire
Could not stand still
An unbearable sensation until all the limbs flailed and
The doctors and police wailed.
It had to be illness...or sin....
Something outside of the body
Now within
And then, the dancing was banned
A woman's body just had to be controlled
Even then.
Time and space is an illusion.

Detail of Marco Cochrane’s “Bliss Dance“, a 40-foot-tall sculpture on display at Las Vegas’ Park MGM, formerly the Monte Carlo Resort and Casino.
group of dancers on the stand of Nikon. photo taken at the international exhibition "Consumer eletstronitss & Photo Expo 2013". Crocus Expo Moscow.
The peony dance.
The peonies got tangled in the clouds.
They are attracted by the pale blue distances.
And it seems that right in front of my eyes,
They soared in the sky, flew...
And their petals smoothly and easily
Intertwined in the air, playing,
They were blown far away by the wind.
What they dreamed of was coming true.
And by making a bet with the cicadas,
They were dancing in a waltz of a bright sunset.
Their dance lasted until dawn.
The sun burst in, and everything disappeared somewhere...
but nothing. The ball is not over yet.
Until the evening, the heroes only dispersed.
And they are waiting impatiently for the day to come in heaven.
That's the hour. And the evening arranged everything....(this dance was performed in my garden...)

The rather colourful Tang Dynasty Dancing Show, near Xi'an, China. We were taken to a local venue, where we were served a delicious Chinese feast and then treated to a colourful dancing show.

Dance with me
to music only I can hear
hold me tight
so I have no fear
Dance with me
by the sea shore
wait and listen
for the waves' roar
Dance with me
on the cliff’s edge
Staring down
from the rocky ledge
Dance with me
in the silvery moonlight
That I may look at you
past the stroke of midnight
Dance with me
and turnover your heart
I am your muse
We must never part
Dance with me
around this world
It is now the time
for wings to be unfurled
Walking through a fantasy land found a group of stuffed bears dancing the day away while having a picnic. Who would think a fantasy land would have a picnic going on.
For some reason, this seagrass swaying in the current brings to mind beautiful Hawaiian maidens dancing on a beach.

Here are a couple of Saguaro cactus that appear to be embracing or dancing. These two were found near the Colossal Cave outside Tucson, Arizona.

When our spirits align and we experience movement together it provides the bliss we seek in the spirit of fellowship. The magical feeling of connecting to others in a higher dimension through the art of dance is what heightens the spiritual experience. It's metaphysical.
Finally caught a pair of Great crested grebes doing their courtship dance this afternoon though only just found a clearing through the reeds
Lets dance little stranger
Show me secret sins
Love can be like bondage
Seduce me once again
Burning like an angel
Who has heaven in reprieve
Burning like the voodoo man
With devils on his sleeve
Won't you dance with me
In my world of fantasy
Won't you dance with me
Ritual fertility

Beginning in the early 1990s, sandhill cranes began stopping at the Hiwassee Wildlife Refuge on their way to and from their wintering grounds in Georgia and Florida. Today, as many as 12,000 spend the entire winter there.
“Sandhill cranes use the Tennessee River as a travel corridor,” says Kirk Miles, Region 3 wildlife manager with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency. “We average, at least for the last five years, about 15,000 sandhill cranes using the Hiwassee Wildlife Refuge. However, more and more, the birds are using other fields along the Tennessee River as well.”
Greater sandhill cranes are the largest sub-species of crane, and average six to seven pounds and close to five feet tall with a wingspan stretching more than six feet wide. Their feathers are varying shades of gray, and the forehead and crown are covered with red skin. Adults have a white cheek patch.
Sandhill cranes mate for life — which can be two decades or more — and remain with their mates year-round. Cranes nest on the ground and often have two eggs, which the pair tends together.
Particularly during spring mating season, but also throughout the year, sandhill cranes will “dance,” which can include bowing, jumping, running, wing flapping and even throwing sticks and grass into the air.
