Interior photograph of a dance hall which stood south of the gas station on Highway 2 in Deseronto, Ontario. The hall was owned by Nellie Cole and was used in the 1930s and 1950s. The building was destroyed by fire in the 1970s.

The photograph shows an ornate bandstand in the centre of the hardwood dance floor, with a woodstove in front of it. Wooden benches line the room and the windows are framed with patterned curtains. The ceiling is decorated with strings of small triangular flags and there are swathes of striped cloth around the bandstand and over the end of the hall.

The photograph was loaned to the Archives for scanning by Bev Boomhour, granddaughter of Nellie Cole.
