Anyone who knows Palermo knows that this cart doesn’t just sell food; it distributes a daily ritual that has repeated unchanged for generations. The sfincionello is the undisputed king of street food, a soft, thick dough topped with tomato sauce, plenty of onions, caciocavallo cheese, anchovies, and oregano, kept warm inside the glass case and served on the spot with a drizzle of raw olive oil. The aesthetics of this shot tell the truth of the neighborhoods, where the vendor moves slowly among cars and time-yellowed buildings, announced by the unmistakable echo of his megaphone blasting the traditional street cry. There is a subtle irony in that sign reading ancient style, because in a world rushing toward technological modernity and standardized tourist food, this three-wheeled cart resists as a stronghold of popular identity. The photograph freezes time a moment before the bite, capturing the essence of a city that declares its beauty precisely through its most authentic corners and poorest flavors.

My day needs to start with a cup of hot tea.

Logical extension of what’s in my bag series. Unlike controlled and arranged photos, this one is purely accidental. Something strange is happening when the bag is closed.

i was standing near the entrance of a quiet shopping arcade when this moment unfolded—two people crossing the same lit patch of ground, each pulling their own weight, each locked in their thoughts. the morning sun sliced the scene into two mirrored halves. one world in reality, one in reflection. it felt like a metaphor for routine, repetition, and invisible labor. i didn’t move. i just watched time ripple through this mirrored frame.

Photographing the animals in my backyard is something I do every day. I enjoy it so much.

a man stops to tie his shoe. everyone else keeps moving, blurred figures in transit, reflections stretching across the ceiling. the station hums with motion, but in this moment, he is still. münchner freiheit, a pause in the rush.

Happy Macro Monday !

a bus idles in the heart of madrid, wrapped in reflections that bend the city into curves and questions. a driver leans forward, half in light, half in thought, while balconies ripple across glass like shadows of memory. life moves past in the reflection—ordinary, beautiful, unspoken.

GROUP: LOOKING CLOSE...ON FRIDAY

THEME: TOILETRIES

SUBJECT: A BAR OF SOAP

When I first started my job; as an English language teacher in China, I was surprised when the classrooms had blackboards instead of whiteboards.

Using chalk has certainly become a part of my life that I never expected.

captured at madrid’s mercado barceló, where the mirrored surfaces of the escalators reflect the rhythm of urban life. the delivery rider, pausing with his phone, seems caught between movement and stillness, a brief moment of pause amid the constant flow. the cool tones and stark reflections create a cityscape that feels both intimate and infinite, where every step is mirrored by another.

I always have a cup of hot tea with breakfast

Caught me on the hop for daily routine, things you do all the time, I choose to do my pink lip gloss, predictable I know, however, it is part of my daily routine. Looking forward to seeing everyone's routines. HMM

This was an option for posting as this week's Macro Monday submission (Daily Routine).

HMM everyone!

Even the turbulence of self-isolation and social distancing times opens new doors. Take care, keep in touch and don’t let the virus win over humanity.

Generally taken before breakfast and often before my cup of tea.

Or blood glucose. Same thing, except blood sugar seems more graphic, more like the admonishment I need. It's a daily ritual for me. Up to this point, I'm still on oral medication. No insulin injections yet. This particular test resulted in a number that's the highest my blood sugar has ever been. I'm not sure why I'm still alive to write this! Just kidding. I'm out the door for my daily walk as soon as I upload this shot. Get that number down, Mike.

(for Macro Mondays, Theme—My Daily Routine; I used a similar shot for another group—Poetography—about a year ago and paired the shot with a poem ("Glucose Self-Monitoring") you might like. You may see the photo and a link to the poem here.)

Scrub Buddies

Most commonly known as the Scrub Daddy (yellow) and the Scrub Mommy (pink). These two smiling sponges live beside our kitchen sink and help tackle the daily pile of dishes. Proof that even the most ordinary tools can have a little personality!

I love planes and I love traveling, preferably on planes. Not very sustainable position, is it? But still, it’s magic.

I have a daily routine and that is to go for a good walk of a few miles, each and everyday! I've been doing that for quite sometime and even if I've golfed or been at my Spin Classes and Yoga Classes at the gym, in the morning, I'll take that walk!!
