I usually don't know where to turn when I open my bible... But recently at church I discovered these little "Our Daily Bread" books. It comes from the Lord's Prayer when Jesus says "Give us today our daily bread." -Matthew 6:11
Our Daily Bread is what we need to feed our spirits to keep us living out faith each day. Our daily encounter with Christ.
Scott Brenner (www.leviworship.com/) summed it up best in an interview here:
"Jesus taught us in the Lord’s Prayer to pray about our needs. “Give us this day our daily bread” (Matthew 6:11). Praying for our daily bread includes prayer for our physical needs as well as our spiritual needs. However, Jesus also said in the Sermon on the Mount, “Don’t worry about your physical needs because your Father in Heaven knows what you need before you ask.” It can be inferred, therefore, that the more important aspect of our daily bread is our spiritual daily bread, which is Jesus himself. A daily encounter with Jesus is the essence of our Christian life. Jesus said, “I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world” (John 6:51)."

Stanhope Alexander Forbes R.A. was an artist and member of the influential Newlyn school of painters. Born in Dublin he studied art at the Lambeth School of Art (now the City & Guilds of London Art School), then in Paris under Léon Bonnat. Forbes went to Brittany in 1881 with fellow artist La Thangue. In France he came into contact with the new en plein air painters.
He moved to Newlyn in Cornwall in 1884, and soon became a leading figure in the growing colony of artists. Often called 'the father of the Newlyn School', Forbes's painting A Fish Sale on a Cornish Beach (1885), brought national recognition to the art colony and the school of painting he founded with his wife who was also a painter.
Well into the 1930s, he was still often to be seen painting en plein air, surrounded by curious local children. He died in 1947, a few months short of his ninetieth birthday.
