Calling all faithful Flickr friends.....

My Dad has just gotten interested in photography again and this is one of his first digital efforts. He would very much value your opinion. Thank you.

Dad's driven a Harley as long as we all remember. One time my mary-jane shoes melted on the pipes on a ride around the block...Mom was upset, since they were my church shoes.

....... June is a very special month. Not only is it my birthday this month, but it's my big sister ViVi's birthday too! She's only my pretend sister but I think she'd make a good one, dad says she'd be a calming influence on me! Apparently I need one because nothing else works!!

Do you think I'll get a birthday cake again this year?

July 15th 1961 mum and dad married at St James Church, Chapelthorpe. 60 years on the are doing really well, having supported three children and six grandchildren. Unusual in todays society they still live on the same road as they did when first married. They have set a cracking example with the way they have loved and cared for one and other and like many couples they have suffered life changing events, most notably when dad broke his back in an industrial injury in 1969. Mum has constantly been there for dad and dad somehow hasn't grumbled at all over the ever present after effects of that dark day.

This photo was taken last Sunday at a small family gathering at my brothers, which incidentally was where dad lived during his teenage years.

Portrait shot in daylight with a single bare Canon 430EX to camera right. Flash triggered by an ST-E2.

My dad built this for mom's special ornaments. Except for top the wood probably came from dad's property.

This year the ornaments are facing the wrong direction. lol

It has been awhile. I pretty much checked out this past year. Dad passed away in late August, just shy of his/mom's 68th wedding anniversary. He had a great life, and I am forever grateful for his guidance.

Hoping everyone out there is doing great. Will be back in force soon. Take care.

It's my Dad's Birthday today. It's less than a month since he has suffered a stroke. He's an amazingly talented father, and I'm wishing for him the most speedy rehabilitation. Happy Birthday Dad.... the inspiration you've shared so freely is priceless. Glaze and ArtStudio apps for the iPhone

is dying....(what to do...?)

My dad is my hero but most of all my best friend. I will never meet another loyal man like him again. That is my greatest loss. My dad is me and I am my dad, all the good I inherited from him, the bad got lost, only because -in time- I understood where it came from.

My dad had hundreds of friends in his life, but when it comes to this, he has only us, my mum and I, and Betty & Bruno, friends he was (again) loyal to and now back to us...So, exuberant and full of life he was, he will die at ease and comfortably

View On White....I hope...THIS IS the most influential man of my life, and a great person to be with, I will miss him tremendously...

I have to admit something, I dig my iPhone better than my Canon. Way easier to pack on the horse, not to mention takes no time to get it off my belt and click. The horse likes it better too, they don't have to wait so long for me to take a pic. They get impatient like kids. That would explain the lack of Canon pics in my files these days. I also get a great deal of amusement from short video clips too. I found out my dad doesn't like being in front of the cam, hmmmm, no need to wonder where i got that from. Ha! We had a bit of excitement right after this pic was taken. Sadie decided upon herself to go swimming on her own without me. It was hot! Pretty crazy for an Alberta Autumn. Well, good thing she has a set of lungs on her (for the first time i was grateful) I was able to locate her rather quickly being swept under by rapid currents. Nothing more scarier than trying to reach your dog cliff side, me hanging, barely being able to touch her panic strickened face. I never stripped so fast in my life (not even for the hottest guy) i went in frigid cold temps to save her life and i must of had a guardian angel looking over me. Don't bother scolding me about risking my life for my dog, I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat. I heard enough from my Mom. My Dad knows better than to say much, besides, he's a man of few words. But obviously not few enough because he told my Mom on me. LOL
