I am sooo looking forward to those first autumn drives!!

On a drive to find some fall colors today, we came across a field of sunflowers. They instantly got me in the mood to use my camera again. We had been hiking the trails a lot this past week and I relied on my cell phone for taking pictures since I still can’t carry much weight on my back. So this Sunday drive was a chance to give myself a break from walking and find something to shoot with my good camera. It was a perfect day to celebrate all the things we can be grateful for in our world. Wishing a peaceful Thanksgiving to everyone!

I like the warm autumn light here and of course I love the muted autumn color----it is a lovely place to take an autumn drive!

HAVE A GREAT DAY---THANKS SO MUCH FOR VISITING---WORKING TODAY---CATCH UP A LITTLE LATER!

You cannot exaggerate the color of the fall tundra.

A very Canadian thing for sure. Tim Hortons. Every morning they are just lined up at these take out windows.

Where I live, is 10,000 people approx. We have three of these stores.

Happy Window Wednesday

Old Coulee Road - Lincoln County, Washington

The autumn foliage was pretty late this year and I was giving up hope that it was ever going to happen. This weekend was the last real chance for any fall photos ops and the weather forecast was not good. With heavy rain and high winds on the horizon I feared the fall would just blow away. Well, on Sunday morning after overnight rain and a window of clearing I headed to the local park to see if any color remained. It didn't disappoint as the park put on a grand finale show. I was happy to have a one last chance to photograph the autumn show. This was last photo I took for the day along East Park Drive in South Park, PA.

A quick edit from last night's spooky, foggy drive through teh tiny coastal country lanes of North Devon in an attempt to capture the combination of last light and heavy sea mist that had looked most inviting from the study window! The title is from the track playing while taking the hair pin bend on the highest cliff section that crazily does not have a crash barrier!

Perfect Fall day to check out the colors on Skyline Drive in Virginia - with the bonus of being mid week, so no weekend crowds.

Yesterday Anita and I started out with no other plan but to go west to the mountains. It was extremely foggy first thing but as we climbed the first set of mountains, we popped out from under the fog and both wondered what it would look like looking down on it so we went to Skyline drive in the Shenandoah National Park and this is what we saw. Almost looks like snow but it is not. Cool stuff and the rest of the day was bright blue skies!

I present here, on Flickr, a series of stolen and not stolen shots, rescued from oblivion, taken on the streets of Taormina, a tourist town on the eastern coast of Sicily. I took many photos by lengthening the exposure times, thus achieving a “blur” effect; I took portraits, especially of very nice couples, one of Chinese origin who got married in Taormina, one from Holland, another from Germany, portraits of very sweet and very nice Chinese girls, a very nice girl portrayed while she was working in a pastry shop, of the artist Leopoldo, a theater actor, who I had the pleasure of photographing (and posting) on several other occasions.

I could not decide if it was better to leave the power pole or erase it. I erased it on a layer in PS and clicked back and forth probably fifty times and finally decided to let it stay. Ehhh, I still dunno.

The valley is located in the province of Aragatsotn in western Armenia, between Yerevan and the highest peak in Armenia, the Ararat massif at 5,200m.....

Hopefully, we'll be able to see more of it than just a tiny bit on the left and right.

Hoffentlich können wir irgendwann mehr davon sehen als hier, wo nur ein winziger Teil links und rechts zu sehen ist.

I don't usually turn my long lens toward insects, let alone cars, but... Just as I was about to get into my car, I noticed a praying mantis striking a pose on the bonnet. Naturally, I couldn’t resist taking a few quick shots of my unexpected model before gently relocating him to a greener, more fitting backdrop.

There are about 100 praying mantis species in Australia—I have no idea which one this is.

I called it a day and managed to find a place for the night and a hot meal in Carmel.

Driving around Iceland is often like drawing a lottery. Sometimes it rains, sometimes the weather offers great photo opportunities. This time, I just leaned out of the window, using my phone a a camera, trying to catch the mood of our road trip.
