She appears at the threshold between waking and sleep, wings shimmering with twilight iridescence. Her eyes glow softly, twin lanterns in the gathering dark, and in her hands rests the key—translucent, impossibly delicate, forged from crystallized moonlight and forgotten lullabies.
You feel yourself slipping, consciousness loosening its grip, and she extends the key toward you with a knowing smile. This is her realm, the purple-shadowed world where logic dissolves and impossibilities bloom like the luminous flowers scattered at her feet.
"Come," she whispers, though you hear it more as feeling than sound. "The Dreamworld awaits."
She turns, and you follow—not with your body, which lies heavy and still beneath blankets, but with something lighter, more fluid. Your dream-self rises and trails after her butterfly wings as she glides deeper into the violet mist.
Here, trees grow upside-down. Here, you can breathe underwater and speak with stars. Here, your deepest fears wear silly hats and your forgotten hopes wait patiently to be remembered.
She is the Dream Guide, keeper of the threshold, and under her watchful gaze, you are free to wander the impossible gardens of your own sleeping mind.

Set at the foot of Pendle Hill, in the picturesque Ribble Valley and part of the Forest of Bowland AONB, the village of Downham is often described as the most beautiful village in England. The Gothic architecture of the local parish church of St Leonard’s takes on a whole new dimension when imaged in infrared.

“Outside, there was that predawn kind of clarity, where the momentum of living has not quite captured the day. The air was not filled with conversation or thought bubbles or laughter or sidelong glances. Everyone was sleeping, all of their ideas and hopes and hidden agendas entangled in the dream world, leaving this world clear and crisp and cold as a bottle of milk in the fridge. ”
