"It is part of the photographer 's job to see more intensely than most people do. He must have and keep in him something of the receptiveness of the "child" who looks at the world for the first time.......!!!!!!! "
Bill Brandt (British Photographer ,1904 - 1983)

Hidden in my dreams , standing on white fine sand, fleeting moments of dawn and the purple gulf

Taken around 1 p.m. this picture is a prime example of how beatufiul the illumination can be in Lapland mid-winter.
Taken February 2021.
Still cruising through my Antarctica images; some take me right back to the moment I was floating in the Zodiac and witnessing such scenes firsthand!
A wonderful installation at LEA 29 (127, 158, 2921) by French artist, Gem Preiz. Loads of inspiration here!
“The sea at dusk is a mirror….. So abundant is the light and so huge the mirror that the whole of a summer evening floats reflected on the glass. Colors gather there, twilight and moonrise, cloud shadows and cloud reflections, the pewter dullness of gathering rain.”
Henry Beston, The Outermost House, 1928
A textured image of that supermoon of a few weeks back.
This was an interior view of Casa Batlló in Barcelona, a masterpiece by Antoni Gaudí.
The large, curvaceous windows with stained glass details take centre stage on the Noble Floor, forming a gallery onto Paseo de Gracia, which is ideal to see and be seen. The organic, flowing architecture, characteristic of Gaudí’s modernist style, is evident in the arched columns, undulating ceiling, and the warm wooden details. A radiant chandelier hangs from the centre, casting a golden glow that highlights the wave-like patterns on the ceiling. The overall effect is reminiscent of an underwater scene, a common theme in Gaudi's work.

This shot is unaltered. No photoshopping performed here. Usually, I alter the levels a wee bit to match what I had actually saw during the shoot. However, this time, the shot is exactly what I had seen when photographing Mt. Katahdin, Maine. So I thought I'd share the picture as is...

Waking into the dreamscape. From one dream into the next. Bleary eyed, I am still trying to reconcile if the scene in front of me is real. A cloudy landscape of cotton candy and light. Winter dawn brings a unique palette of both warm and cool color.
The fourth photo from the "Watercolor" series.
On the dawn of our last day in Ireland, I visited the amazing 12 Pine Island in Derryclare Lough, my fave location that I used to visit every day and surprise!! The place was surrounded by a dense cloud isolating the island completely from its surroundings and giving it an intense out-of-this-world feeling!
It was rather the best I could have wished for my last farewell visit! Of course it didn't look exactly like this, this is rather my dreamy interpretation of how I like to remember it.
Warm sunlight pours into the Bayou and is greeted by the rising mist. Conditions such as these are so transient. Anticipating the light, maneuvering through the water for a good composition and being set up and ready in time is quite challenging. Feel truly fortunate for having been able to witness and photograph this scene.
I was lucky that the most incredible display of Aurora from my trip to Iceland coincided with a trip to Vestrahorn. The Aurora danced above for hours, creating uncountable compositions and scenes to photograph. It was landscape heaven. I long to return.
BW redux
It is real. Extreme telephoto combined with software emulation of T/S lens.
As usual, all my software has the background set to pure black. Try it.
