Night photography of Kaufbeuren town showing the light pollution. The area was close to the train and one passed by during time of capture. A colorful homage to nature and man made installations.

Believe it or not, this is the official entrance to the MONA galleries. That black door takes you through into the original building by architect Sir Roy Grounds. Once inside you take the stairs or a lift down into the dungeons. Not quite, although the incredible structure carved out of the sandstone, can be likened to an ancient Egyptian tomb.

On the wall facing us in this photograph is a series of distorting mirrors. I am actually standing on the tennis court that we have to walk over to get to the entrance (you'll see it there in the reflections). Behind that is "Amarna", a James Turrell light installation we'll look at tomorrow. The funny story of how a tennis court came to be in this place is told by Adrian Franklin in his book "The Making of MONA" (Viking, 2014). It was all David Walsh's fault.

Trying out new nd filters on prime 22mm lens.

Hopefully tomorrow if the weather allows part II.

Storms, floods and gales - power cuts and mud. Time to dream of the winter view that I'd prefer ;o)

Many thanks to Margeois for the beautiful glass images that inspired this dreamscape!

Other textures and layers are either my own or created in Photoshop

A colorful sunrise over the Gulf of Mexico

A mountain peak floating in mist, the landscapes here are endlessly inspiring.

This is a scene from Emerald Lake with Emerald Lake Lodge on the little island in Yoho National Park, British Columbia.

There was a slight wind, enough to ruffle the surface of the lake so I decided to use a ND filter to create a long exposure and to smooth out the water.

What do you think of this effect?

A tall, multi-windowed house stands alone against a dark red and purple sky, with a bold orange moon looming nearby. The foreground features dynamic, red-hued grass, adding a sense of movement and contrast.

The last of the autumn colours can be seen as we near the end of our walk to the Lilydale Falls in northern Tasmania.
