My favourite fountain in Rome - in a city with quite a few of them - is this little thing. It is a dragon spouting water (which is drinkable, by the way). The fountain, which is actually one of a pair, is so small it does not even have a real name of its own, but the set is known as the "Fontanelle dei Palazzo Penitenzieri", that is "the small Palace Pentizenieri fountains". The palace (close to St Peter's) is a Renaissance palace where work began in the late 15th century, but the fountain is the heraldic emblem of Pope Paul V (born Camillo Borghese) who ruled the Papal state 1605-1621, so I think it is very safe to assume that the fountain also dates to this time too.
The upwelling of a lava flow created these plates called "dragon's teeth" all along the north rim of the peninsula at Makaluapuna Point, Maui, Hawaii. Processed with Lightroom, Photoshop and Topaz filters.
Dragon’s Teeth was formed as a result of one of the last lava flows from West Maui Volcano thousands of years ago. The lava flow met the intense ocean waves and strong sea winds causing it to jut upwards, cool, and harden, creating the jagged black rock appearance.

Die Libellen zeichnen sich durch einen außergewöhnlichen Flugapparat aus. The Dragon Shrimp (Miropandalus hardingi) usually lives on whip corals. It has large tooth like spines along the center of its back.

Dragon on Tudor Royal arms in King's College Chapel, Cambridge.
King's Chapel is festooned with the Royal arms of Henry VII and Henry VIII. Their message proclaiming Tudor majesty and power could never be overlooked.
The arm's two beast supporters are a dragon at left and a greyhound at right. The dragon, the traditional Welsh dragon, was used on Henry Tudor, later King Henry VII's, banner. It was notably displayed at the Battle of Bosworth in 1485 where the Yorkist Richard III was defeated and killed.

Welsh Dragon on Black wrought iron gate whilst walking in Harlech.
The dragon appeared on the battle flags of various British soldiers
on their way to Rome in the 4th Century.
It was later adopted by the 5th Century Welsh King's who were keen to show their authority
following the Roman withdrawal.
The legend, the two sleeping dragons one white - one red woke up and began fighting!!!

There are many cute things about the Dragon and one part that is underrespresented on my photostream are his paws, so I thought I should take a photo of them when he sat on a shelf and showed them so nicely. :)
One of the most famous sights in Da Nang and was opened in 2013. The 'dragon' breathes fire every Saturday and Sunday at 9pm

Once again I wish I hadn't been so slapdash, and wish I had got my dragons in focus. Sometimes I just don't think! A wonderfully atmospheric time in the woods below Hen Cloud, The Roaches. Goblins in the mist!
This is the famous Dragon Bridge over the Hàn River in Da Nang (Danang), Vietnam. You can see that the river is near flood stage due to a period of heavy rain after the end of the rainy season.
Da Nang or Danang (Vietnamese: Đà Nẵng, Vietnamese pronunciation: [ɗaː˨˩ n̪a˧˥ˀŋ]) is the fifth-largest city in Vietnam by municipal population. It lies on the coast of the South China Sea of Vietnam at the mouth of the Hàn River, and is one of Vietnam's most important port cities.
