Since these pictures were taken, much restoration work has been done on the Propylaea (especially in the years immediately prior to the 2004 Olympics) and it still serves as the entrance to the Acropolis of Athens, used by thousands of tourists every year.
I have no recollection of what led us to visit this particular church, although it seems a classic example of a small Greek Orthodox church. . Geocoords: 38.05487, 23.86983 (as near as I can tell from Google Maps)

Went this weekend to my new favorite Florida park and spent the whole morning shooting with my analog Nikon cameras. Really love the grain and flat colors of most color negative films.

From the Wikipedia: Tiryns was a hill fort with occupation ranging back seven thousand years, from before the beginning of the Bronze Age. It reached its height between 1400 and 1200 BC, when it was one of the most important centers of the Mycenaean world, and in particular in Argolis. Its most notable features were its palace, its Cyclopean tunnels and especially its walls, which gave the city its Homeric epithet of "mighty walled Tiryns". Tiryns is linked with the myths surrounding Heracles, as the city was the residence of the hero during his labors, and some sources even cite it as his birthplace.

Skyline of Manhattan from Liberty Park
this panorama was made with 16 photos taken with a hasselblad H4D 40 with exposure of 16 sec, f / 16 ISO 100, 80mm HC lens. In post production I worked in LAB mode, applying sharpening only the luminance channel in the following section mixing channels. For converting to black and white used NIK SilverEfex Pro 2, creating two layers with masks edited. For blue toning used a ColorLookup layer in Blue Tone. The High Resolution Image has 16246x400px at 300 dpi.

Sunny day (!!) at the Nekromanteion (Νεκρομαντεῖον, Oracle of the Dead) on the banks of the Acheron River in Epirus, northern Greece We made a quick stop to check it out on our way home to Glyfada after getting off the ferry in Igoumenitsa. We're not in gray cold continental Europe any more. :-)
October 1974
Unfortunately, this is probably NOT the real Nekromanteion, but rather a fortified farm house from the 2nd century BC.

This is a nothing special image, but documentarian in me can't resist putting it up as part of the archive, since this area has undergone so much development in the 45 years since this picture was taken. So it's not here for its artistic merit, just as an illustration of how things have changed.
