Built around 1865, Black Creek Village. The carriage works building originally housed a blacksmith and wheelwright shop. In the 1870s the business grew into a full-fledged carriage works including an upholsterer and cabinet maker. The Dominion Carriage Works was operated by Mr. Ash until 1972. The building was opened for viewing by the public in 1976.

I August 2017, I took my granddaughter, Viola, to Kings Dominion for her birthday.
Delirium opened in 2016 and replaced the stand-up roller coaster 'Shockwave'.
Forty riders reach a height of 115 feet (35 m) above the ground, as they are propelled back and forth at 66 miles per hour.

The Dominion Building was Vancouver's first steel-framed skyscraper. Designed in the Beaux-Arts style by J.S. Helyer and Son, the 14-story building was the tallest in the British Empire upon completion in 1912. The facade features Burmantofts terra cotta from Leeds and polished red granite columns from Aberdeen.
Caught this from the roof of the Flack Block just before taking the Remembrance Day shots. The sun came out very briefly, creating some nice light on the building.

LNER A4 60010 'Dominion of Canada' parked outside at Shildon 20/10/12. Unfortunately when I got here and when the sun came out 60008 (which is to the left) was in shadow.
Recently, the Ottawa Urban Sketchers issued a challenge to its members: in order to cope with self-isolation during the pandemic, they suggested that members go on a V Sketch Hunt and draw some site in Ottawa using Google Map's Street View. So taking up the challenge, I choose to sketch the Dominion Observatory but drew it using Street View as a night scene with the Milky Way in the background. The Dominion Observatory is located inside the Experimental Farm in Ottawa and operated from 1906 to 1970. While I've never had the chance to go inside, I've always admired its structure and the sense of mystery surrounding it.
Récemment, les Urban Sketchers d'Ottawa ont lancé un défi à leurs membres : afin de faire face à l'auto-isolement pendant la pandémie, ils ont suggéré que les membres partent à la chasse aux croquis virtuelles et dessinent un site à Ottawa en utilisant Street View de Google Map. Relevant le défi, j'ai choisi d'esquisser l'Observatoire fédéral, mais je l'ai dessiné en utilisant Street View comme scène de nuit avec la Voie lactée en arrière-plan. L'Observatoire fédéral est situé à l'intérieur de la Ferme expérimentale à Ottawa et a fonctionné de 1906 à 1970. Même si je n'ai jamais eu la chance d'y entrer, j'ai toujours admiré sa structure et le sens du mystère qui l'entoure.

Dominion Theatre, London. Demolition was narrowly averted in 1990, when, in a poor state of repair, the theatre seemed doomed to be replaced with a hotel. A vigorous campaign stalled the plans and the theatre was sold by Rank to Clear Channel and Nederlander, the latter taking total ownership within a decade. Opened in 1930, designed by W & T R Milburn. Grade 2 listed.
