More Northern Pintails, American Wigeons and Green-winged Teal than can be counted! Unfortunately, one can't get closer to Warren Lake and environs, which are owned by the Katy Prairie Conservancy, but leased for cattle grazing. Good for the ducks! The Conservancy does provide a distant observation tower, however. Katy, Texas.
Dates From: 1860
Original Location: Sebringville, Ontario (Perth County)
The carriage works building originally housed a blacksmith and wheelwright shop. As the business prospered in the 1870s, it was enlarged into a full-fledged carriage works that included an upholsterer and cabinet maker.
With the advent of the automobile, the carriage-making declined. Nevertheless, the Dominion Carriage Works continued to operate on a limited basis until 1972.
In 1973 the building was moved to Black Creek Pioneer Village, complete with its original tools and patterns. Restoration and re-assembly was completed and the building was opened for viewing by the general public in 1976
"The Dominion Building (originally Dominion Trust Building) is a commercial building in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Located on the edge of Gastown (207 West Hastings St), it was Vancouver's first steel-framed high-rise. At 53 m (175 ft), the thirteen-storey, Second Empire style building was the tallest commercial building in the British Empire upon its completion in 1910. Its architect was John S. Helyer, who is said to have died after falling off the staircase in the front of the building, though this is an urban legend."
This was my last shot before leaving that place. It was a great beach to go in summer, 2 minutes from home. Sand is not the greatest but who cares...
Central staircase in the Dominion Building in Vancouver's Gastown.
This second empire style building completed in 1910 was once the tallest building in the British Empire. The stairs between the 7th and 8th floors are also rumored to be haunted with the ghost of the buildings architect John S. Helyer.

Sunset was wonderful ! First time since ever I have to chance to catch such scene. While I was there a women invite me over the wall on left, to have a better point of view. I will go another time. She commented the during last spring the St-John river was few feet above this wall, 15 foot above where I was standing.
A perfect moment in time, completely frozen. Tiny droplets of water from previous leaps hang in the air like a swarm of insects. Intense eyes utterly focused on the objective while the animal is suspended in mid-air without a hair moving. Dreamy waterfalls and waves are wonderful with their combined motions all smoothed together, but the opposite is also true: the total freezing of all apparent motion into the illusion of stasis also has its appeal.

This was the Dominion Atlantic Railway Bridge. It is located in Annapolis Royal, N.S., and will serve as a return destination many times. As the story goes, the CPR leased it for 99 years. However, in1990 it was abandoned due to maintenance issues. It is about 600' long with a 175' truss, and runs over a river that leads to the Bay of Fundy. It is located close to where we stayed giving me quick and easy access for various and wonderful results.

The Dominion Building (originally Dominion Trust Building) is a commercial building in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Located on the edge of Gastown (207 West Hastings St), it was Vancouver's first steel-framed high-rise.[4] Its architect was John S. Helyer,[5] who is said to have died after falling off the staircase in the front of the building, though this is an urban legend.[6]
The financier of the structure was the Count Alvo von Alvensleben from Germany, who was active in Vancouver's financial scene at the time. It was known generally that von Alvensleben was one of the Kaiser's godsons. It was held at the time that he was a front for the Kaiser's money, which carried the suggestion that the Empire's tallest building had been built by its greatest rival, a rumour which disregards the fact that the tallest building in the Empire was in fact the Trader’s Bank Building in Toronto, completed in 1906 at 55.39m in height.
Today it is a provincially designated Class "A" heritage structure.
Owned by Newton Investments Limited, it was restored by restoration expert Read Jones Christofferson. The building's current tenants include a film production company (Haddock), a law firm, clothing designers, record labels, antiquarian booksellers, Kokoro Dance, professional web developers, marketing agency, Bowery Creative, the office of the Green Party of Vancouver, a dentist, non-profit organizations such as Living Oceans Society and Fair Trade Vancouver and a Lebanese restaurant, Nuba.
The Dominion Building sits across the street from Victory Square, site of the former provincial courthouse, which was relocated to Georgia Street in 1913. The Dominion Building was at the hub of the city's financial and legal district until that move.
seen in the lobby of the Dominion Building and still in use, I wonder how many of these beauties are still around?

I suppose the fog would make "observing" a challenge.
The Dominion Observatory was an astronomical observatory in Ottawa, Ontario that operated from 1902 to 1970. The Observatory was also an institution within the Canadian Federal Government. The observatory grew out of the Department of the Interior's need for the precise coordinates and timekeeping that at that time could only come from an observatory. For several years they had used a small observatory on the Ottawa River for this purpose. In 1902, it was decided that Canada needed a larger national observatory similar to the Royal Greenwich Observatory in Britain.
