Sorry for being away from Flickr! It has been a tough time. Things are changing so much around me... But I still have my wife, my friends and Dolly!

I wish everyone a very happy 2022!

Thank you SO much, Lynne! I adore Dolly! I will try to get better pictures of her gorgeous lids later! They do sparkle! Dolly is my Mod Molly...she has just returned from Happibug Spa! She is now Dolly...I am always amazed at the fantastic Lynne...and her awesome customizing skills!

68003 is seen departing Parton on a glorious morning back in June 2018. 2C35 the 05.50 Barrow-in-Furness to Carlisle on the Cumbrian Coast with 68017 bringing up the rear.

The bushes, lichen and several trees were quite pretty there under the late day clouds.

Was lucky to time this trip with the full moon ... just worked out that way. Glad the eastern sky burned off after sunset to allow the moon to appear just in time with the nice mix of lighting there as the day ended.

The colors in the bushes at the Dolly Sods was perfect too.

95 years young .

Dolly the Duster busies herself diligently dusting the detailed doilies with her down dress.

The theme for “Smile on Saturday” for the 5th of April is “display the D”, a theme where it is required to take a photo where something beginning with the letter D should be the main subject of the picture. In this case, I have managed to fill the entire image with items that begin with the letter D. Dolly herself is a German half-doll (the first D) who is still attached to her original down (the second D) duster (the third D). She lies against a backdrop of ornate vintage doilies (the fourth D), which believe it or not, I acquired from a large National Trust vintage and collectables bazaar to raise money for the upkeep of the Trust’s properties just a few hours before I took this photo! Although you cannot see it, the half-doll duster still has her original silver foiled tag at the base of her spine on the back, which identifies that she was made by the porcelain manufacturer Dressel (which is another D although I am not counting it). I think that makes this photo perfect for the theme! I do hope you like my choice for the theme and that it makes you smile!

The "half-doll" is a dainty porcelain or bisque figurine, fashionable in the early Twentieth Century with an upper body, head, arms, but no legs. These dolls were produced in the thousands at the height of their popularity by German factories such as Dressel and Kister, Heubach, Goebel and Kestner. Later they were produced in France, America and later still, in Japan. They commonly served as handles and toppers for fabric covers made for powder boxes on ladies’ dressing tables and small brushes, however they were also made for jewellery boxes, pincushions, tea cosies and other covers. In this case, my German half-doll with her Eighteenth Century style dress and picture hat, would have been made for a lady’s boudoir and as we can see, is a dainty feather duster. The duster part is made of swansdown.

Late hour there in the highlands of West Virginia ... the Dolly Sods area.

Here is where I keep my dolly dresses and shoes.

This mini wardrobe was produced in a baby store next to my house, I googled for ideas and also used my other piece as a base, but wanted to add more drawers for shoes and small parts. Finally I got this design.

Now my dollies has 2 wardrobes and much more space. I think we need more clothes to fill them, hihi.

Below there is another pic showing the details. Hope you like it^^

Have a great weekend, friends. Enjoy! ;)

ps: I also added in comments a pic of my other wardrobe, handmaded by me and my hubby.

I don’t know if this llama has a name. But Dolly Llama seemed like a fine title for my photograph. Dolly lives on a farm near me and is free to roam a large field with other llamas. alpacas, long horn cattle and more. Dolly took barely a moment from scratching her posterior with her teeth for a full-face portrait.

she could melt my heart

An archive image I thought I had posted before but couldn't find where I had, so here it is now.

From a photo shoot at my friend Carla's ranch. Carla is the one who has a lot of Gypsy horses (and I've done a lot of photography for) and she is who I got Pete from.

This is a lovely little mare named Dolly

Dolly lives with my kids. She is a sweetie who lives for fuss and toys.

The dolly cabinet in our livingroom!! My brother made this awesome cabinet some time ago! It truely is my 'happy place'!

Fall in the Dolly Sods area, a magical place in the highlands of West Virginia. Probably will not make it up there this season ... but nice to remember the view here.

This is Dolly my friends Chihuahua she is just 3 months old and venturing into the bluebells. Super little dog, full of spirit, Captured at a moment of calm :-)

Dolly Beach on Christmas Island has to be the prettiest beach I've ever been on. Warm, isolated, turquoise water and huge waves.

At 17,000 plus acres, this high-altitude plateau along the Allegheny Front of West Virginia contains a unique ecosystem similar to portions of Canada. Weather is always a question in this area of red spruce forests, cranberry bogs, rocky terrain and grassy balds. The name Dolly Sods comes from an 18th century homesteading family, the Dahles, and a local term for an open mountaintop meadow, a sod.

View is from along the Bear Rocks/Raven Ridge Trails.
