i am on vacation right now and this morning we went down to the beach.
while i was taking tons of pictures, a family walked by with their dog. the dog immediately came up and sat down next to me saying "me next!".
as he let out a big yawn, i snapped this shot...looks to me like he is smiling! it is very windy here as a result of the tropical storm nearby, but the dog and i were not bothered and enjoyed meeting, even for a few brief moments before he continued to walk along with his family...
Only time I've been glad Larry had a pink nose. It's darker in the summer. Here's a little video showing what an awesome model he is. I used flashes for the photo, so the video lighting is horrible.

Portrait of a friend's dog, "Tuck". This dog, along with a litter mate, they rescued from a gravel pit area when they were puppies. They called them Nip and Tuck. Not sure if they were abandoned there, or if they may ahve been hybrids - part coyote. Anyway, Tuck has a unique personality. He is well beloved.
Our creative group works in a 100-year old renovated church. One of our favorite employees is Cooper. These photos were taken for a local feature on "downtown office dogs."
This Annual Cicada has just hatched from it's nymph stage after coming out of the ground. The Cicada will soon take flight to the upper reaches of the trees and start it's song to lure a female for mating. I really enjoy the sounds of these insects, but they are considerably less, as chemicals are poured on lawns for a fine green landscape. Here is a link to some information and their song.

Only 3 months old, Penelope the French Bulldog is too young to drink, but her drowsy appearance and casual table manners tell a different story during an outing with some beer-drinking humans at Lynnwood Brewing Concern in Raleigh.
Timmy, 'a dog' poses as only hyperactive animals and children will (and from his perspective). Brightened up my day.
This is my friend Olivia. A beautiful Weimaraner of my best friend. A new start, more to come soon.
Esta es mi amiga Olivia. Una Weimaraner preciosa de mis mejores amigos. Es un nuevo comienzo, pronto más...
I haven't uploaded anything here in months.
A big reason for that is that I found out my dog, and best friend, Bettis has liver cancer and my days are limited with him.
He's in the twilight of his life, it would seem and all we can do at this point is to make sure he has a good quality of life as long as we have him.
His life has reached its December. I hope it's a long one.
To say I'm devastated would be an understatement.
We acquired 2 puppies a while back. Molly is on the left, she's hyper and immature (OK she's a puppy), Ki is on the right she is smart, laid back and the alpha dog of the two. They are 4 1/2 month's old. There mother is a beagle and their father was a mix of terrier, shiatsu and other. They are sisters. I have been wanting to do a photo shoot of them and this seat on the pontoon boat seemed like a good place to start. It just so happened today is national dog day which I did not know at the time of posting :)
