DM&IR 347 at the Chisholm Museum of Mining. Scanned from a color negative taken in the mid 1970s as the engine was beginning to sink into the earth. I don't think there was ever any ballast under the ties.

Had dit weekend voor het eerst mijn Canon EOS 1000D in gebruik, die ik de donderdags had gekocht.
ICE SD40-2's #6406 & 6437 bring T#471 around the curve at Pressler Jct. where the PRC Subdivision joins the Black Hills Sub. In spite of the rural background, this is in the middle of Rapid City, SD with a 4 lane highway, strip plazas and a car dealership behind me. July 19, 2009.(dme120843h)
