My husband's contribution to the telegraph: an Arduino board that will power the beacon light LEDs and send the "acknowledgement signal" once the switch is thrown. As I haven't figured out how to make a functional knife switch just yet, he was kind enough to make a button that the switch will press. Genius! I couldn't tell you how this part works. As far as I'm concerned, he trapped fireflies and is commanding them to do his bidding.
