So in the photo the current configuration shows what 42 inches will be. That is the 1070mm infinity. With both the extension rail and focusing rail at max it has 51 inches from the rear of the camera. I don’t think I will need more then that. However I haven’t used this hypothetical camera yet ♂️
So I built a foam board flat bellows form shape. The goal here is to see what it will look like as well as have a shape to make the bellows in the future. I was thinking about buying some fabrics and card stock today. Maybe even start working on the ribs this evening. I need to get some more work done on this camera. If I keep taking breaks, I won’t be able to finish this year. I know me. I’ll put it off till I find inspiration and interest again and that is not what I want. The time is here and now.
Paper negatives taken in film canisters cameras. 1 3/4” squares. Thanks to Joe Van Cleave and his tutorials!!!

Musou black, Liquitex mars black, Apple barrel black , and Black 2.0. Both black 2.0 and Musou black are very brittle. The other two seem fine.
So I designed my 14x36 to use a Rodenstock APO Ronar CL 1070mm f14. The camera has a max theoretical bellows draw of 52 inches. The 1070 only needs 42 inches for infinity. For landscapes this is fine and even if I need to I have about 200mm extra for things closer to the camera. The way I was going to originally do it was use a old graflex camera as a shutter. I just couldn’t find it in me to destroy another camera for this one. So I found a Sinar shutter for fairly cheap. My new idea is to mount the sinar shutter on the inside of the lens board. This way I’m not putting stress from a 6 lbs lens on the front of it.
Not much to report. The main part of the big a$$ bellows are done. I need to glue the top layer of fabric and finish folding them. Hopefully that will be done tomorrow.
A test of my 6x17 panoramic pinhole camera that I just completed making. Taken near the abandoned Battery Boutelle in the Presidio.
