This is a quick and easy dip to make for summer. The recipe is at shadowfoot.com/recipe/summer-dip

We filled the bucket with ice and drinks, but we keep having to get more.

This is the most beautiful trench ever! It looks like a dress when closed and has great dip dye detail all over the bottom. It is a classic trench style with an empire waist belt.

Originally I went with straight up Strawberry Kool-Aid and the result was just too neon reddish. A second dip in grape dulled the color considerably and now I'm really happy with it.

So if you are coloring with Kool-Aid, be very careful of the Strawberry, Cherry, Fruit Punch - they are all pretty much the same shade of red. Strawberry Kiwi would be a brighter pink than Pink Lemonade, so now I'm on the hunt for it instead of Strawberry.

I made three batches of hummus.

This was the third one. It was mostly freeform and got a bit frankenstein; too much lemon juice in it. Cilantro was used instead of parsley which was a little on the strong side. I'd say this was my least favourite of the three.

Leftover marinade can be used for dipping.
